Salute.

Tell me, if this is not the right place to ask, but i have seen that many "Non-Matrix"-Topics
are discussed here... so i will give it a try:

I am owner of an AMD 1800 Mhz-machine and use this ?!**## VIA97-sound-chip with
a GForce-Card with Windows XP Professional. My problem: the sound of "Shadow Warrior". Everything runs well, but the speech of my character seems to slow down the
whole game horribly. Tryed everything from dosbox to VDS-emulator, played with the options of my card... no sucess. I´ve even downloaded Ken Silvermans (author of the graphic-machine) tool for VESA (640x480)-support... no sucess. Are there any other tools that could help?! As i sayed, i´ve tryed everything possible with emulators. Maybe somebody here with a solution? Seems like i have to give away that VIA-thing... and buy such a good, old soundcard... (i have heard that VIA doesn´t emulate the SoundBlaster very well...)! And, by the way, is there a newer Version of DirectX than
the one i got with my Windows XP (maybe 1 1/2 Years old)?! As the newer Versions are
all not removable and my system is running pretty well, i don´t wan´t to play around...
maybe it would help?!

Greetings!

mhh... on my 2 pc´s i have very seldom any sound problems.

first pc is 1400mhz. intel celeron + soundblaster live

second is 1400mhz. amd duron + on board sound of the board named "asrock k7Sx-e" ( or something )

the onboard sound functions but has not the quality of the soundblaster....

i recommend buying a SB live or an audigy at ebay:

Habe ich mir glatt gedacht. Vielleicht erwartet man einfach zu viel... denke, es läuft auf
einen SoundBlaster hinaus. Kurioserweise funktioniert "Duke3D" (gleiche Code-Maschine, soviel ich weiß) in jeder Beziehung 1A. Verstehen kann das wohl kein Mensch. Danke für die Bestätigung.

Gruß!
