After a looooooong load time of Scenario 15 I`m taken to the Arabian Sea ??? and the Game locks up and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del out. This is with the small 16 meg download installed on to the 1.21 Version, which worked fine pre Patch 1.30.

I`ve deleted the Game and done a clean re-install and will now try the full 77 meg download which is supposed to include all previous version Patches. ( If I can download it in my lifetime )

I am Not Happy here Matrix.

-Had the same trouble with v1.30 full, installed over 1.21. It seems the old sound trouble is back. Mine was corrected by installing the sound patch and upgrading my Windows media player. v1.21 was working fine. Back to no sound....if it works.

That was a waste of bandwidth. The patch is *exactly* the same.

How long did you wait before deciding the game was locked up? I installed the quickie patch over 1.21 and am having no trouble, although I did notice that the game took a couple of minutes or so to get cranked up the first time I booted it after the install.

I noticed the same thing first time I loaded a scenario. Subsequent load times were normal.

Btw: for those who didn't notice, the defaults are reset so the game will run turn #1 as soon as it starts if you don't turn off historical first turn.

-Complete. It may be possible that it installed the 44KHZ sounds instead of the 22KHZ I was using? But I then reinstalled the sound interim patch over 1.30 and nothing happened. In the register of WiTP installations it registered that all those files were skipped. Here is the registry file, it may help you (and me...)

Correct, complete contains the 44khz version ... if you couldn't work with it before, but the 22khz version worked then you really have some serious sound problems ... take it to pm, send me your system specs.

Mr. Frag. Problem fixed. I´ve deleted all sound files and then reinstalled the 22khz version. I think it should be clear to people whose game only have sounds under 22khz version (even if there are few of them), that they must install the light version, or, alternatively, do as did (which is a waste of time, but some people may have already downloaded the full version). My attempt to einstall the sound patch didn´t work because the installer located the files of 44khz version and skipped them.

I waited 3 min. The full 77 mb. install worked and Scenario 15 started OK after about 2 min, maybe I was was too fast the first time but... there was no sound with the 16 mb. install so that also bothered me.

The assumption with the small patch is it is for people who (a) Already sorted out their sound problems with downloading supplemental sound files or (b) never had sound problems in the first place.

I noticed the same thing first time I loaded a scenario. Subsequent load times were normal.

I noticed the order of magnitude slower save file loading as well, 1.30 versus 1.21. Only mine has not gone away. Still takes several minutes to load a PBEM turn---the combat replay EVEN LONGER. I have taken to leaving the room and coming back later every time I go to do a turn. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I had this trouble in the 1st time I loaded a 1.21 savegame file with 1.3. In subsequent turns, loading, execution and response times after mouse clicks returned to normal.

Mine has NOT returned to normal, and I am wondering WHY? Which file did you use for the patch? I downloaded the small one for people who already had 1.21 with no audio problems. And I've had no problems except the excruciating slow loading.

Anybody?

There is *NO* difference between 1.3 complete & small except for the sound files and some artwork that was in the 1.20 patch.

If you have an issue with 1.30's exe, it will not change by changing which one you installed as they are the same file.

If you are talking about a 1.21 file that you have converted, try a new game with 1.30 and see if the speeds are the same.

I think the delay on turn start is due to ZOC computing. Of course this a guess on my part. I can live with it. Mine is only about a 30 sec to 1 min delay at start.

That is interesting. After i had installed 1.3 full patch version during 2-3 hours of play i had 3 game crashes. I have 'never' had any problems before, beginning from version 1.0.
