Is it just me, or is it the normal D\L drama we have every time I try to D\L WITP associated product? My D\L got to 90% and crashed. I am using DAP as a D\L manager, but the sight won,t support resume, whats the go? And before I'm flamed for having 56k modem, let me say I'm in a remote area still patiently waiting for wireless B\band! I can't access the members section to try another D\L manager. Why does[: Matrix give their paying customers such a hard time, Why can't u release the patch the way most other companies do?

Hmmm actually has anyone in Aus. been able to get the patch?

I'm slowly chewing up my download allocation for November.

I'm batting 0 from 5 attempts with cable modem.

How about putting up the patch on a non secure server?

I'm pretty sure it's all the login id/ session cookie crap thats killing my downloads.

Cheers

It took me about four attempts to get onto the members download area, but once the D/L started it kept going.
I had a few pauses where it looked like it was going to drop out but it recovered.
It took about 2-3 hours to get the short patch.

The fact that Resume is not supported is a problem for users who need to re-try several times to get the D/L. It took me several days to download the previous patch. In the past, resume has been supported and that is why download managers really exist.

I think that the reason "resume is not supported" at this time is that this function also allows multiple connections for D/L from the same user. This impacts the number of people who can connect. It is not fair that I download the patch using 15 connections downloading 1M each, so 14 other people can just cool their heels

BTW, I am using 56K dialup. D/L about 7:30pm on 2/11 Sydney time.

Lot´s of people downloading, so the servers are under stress. On top of that , you might have noticed some "timeouts" while accesing forums and such in the last two days, there has been a router problem outside of Matrix Games servers.

So no it´s not allways us when something is slow. Get you facts right about how the internet works Oliver before you come and broadly bitch about stuff you obviously have no clue about, thank you. It could be any hop between you and Matrix that´s causing this. Maybe even your ISP having problems or some stupid construction worker peeing on the copper cables in your street.

Funny I could download the patch at 250kb/s, nope I´m not sitting on our servers, I connect all the was from Germany to NY.

As for "members area" problems. Write an email to membersarea@matrixgames.com for support, as stated on the members area page. For 99% it works fine, of course there are allways problems. Some Matrix related, some customers related. You all know we´re allways trying to fix problems ASAP.

Yeah, I know we sucked when we had CD copy protection, now that we have other means we suck too . We would even suck if we would give everything away for free and wash your car every saturday.

I wont allow you guys even to *look* at my car. might get dameged or unwilling to move anymore ....

"Maybe even your ISP having problems or some stupid construction worker peeing on the copper cables in your street. "

since I am not at D.Telekom, I cannot say how it feels when "my ISP" is down becasue as amatter of fact it does not happen here since 3 years now. I WAS customer of DTE and they came close to matrix when it comes to reliable services...

pee on any cables you like, I hope its the 5000 Volt power line with isolation removed.

I like 2by3 and their games and SSG as well as the betas here but I certainly wont buy any other game as long as you guys gonna to publish them. period.

now you can remove my account and anything else, I certainly dont care anymore.

Marc, Thankyou for your reply, but why isn't a D\L resume supported? It would make life much easier, not to mention save a few hours here or there.
