Zone of Controls: they reset after few turns

Here is the problem i am experiencing in one of my PBEM (which started as 1.22 and updated to 1.3).

1) when we first updated the game, no hex had zone of control (the J, A, JA) except the ones the units were occupying.
2) after it, correctly, any hex the unit was passing over was becoming owned.
3) Now, in the last turn, i have all zones deleted. no hex is controlled unless the ones occupied by units.

Result: the was in china is ****ed up right now. all the enemy units i had encircled and were now encircled are now supplied and free to move out.

Another thing i noticed is that some units seem not able to trace path to destination even if the road is empty.

I have units from singapore ordered to go to Bankok (all road is not occupied by anyone due to the reset i mentioned before). every turn i order them to go to bankok and i see they head to NE correctly. but the next turn i see they are heading W (towards an hex without road). this is happening since few turns now.

I have the savegame if needed.

I had a near identical problem with ZOCs in my upgraded game. I sent a copy of the save file to Xargun and he reported that he could not duplicate it. I think we need a game started under 1.3 where this happens for the testers.

any work around?

my campaign in china is screwed big time.

if you start back from the last turn you had the ZOC showed is there any chance the game starts running fine again?

All I can say is, "I agree, there's something wonky with ZOC." Essentially what I'm seeing is, if you're in a hex with an enemy unit, you're stuck there until made to retreat. I've got several divsions trying to leave their hex towards a friendly town (via road if it matters), that have been "stuck" at 59 miles for the last 4 - 5 turns.

But oh well. Whaddya gonna do. Probably better for 'em to stand and fight anyways.

In my game the problem is that all the ZOC disappeared in a turn.

is there a way to fix this? or to recover?

ZOC don't remain static even in games started with 1.3

I'm not sure how long they last. More than a turn, but maybe it has to do with turning the game off and back on.

That means you still need to have all 6 hexes occupied to force a unit to surrender.

what you mean turning the game on and off?

In this PBEM, they disappeared all at once in 1 turn. the turn before all were there, the next turn all were gone.

The thing which really pisses me off is that i had encircled the units with 6 units. but when 1.3 came and seeing the ZOC working, i moved the encircling units since there was the ZOC.

anyway, is it possible to get some support from Matrix? if this is a known bug since others already reported, why none put a sticky thread?

I lost 3 pockets in china, basically screwing up my campaign there. they were all bound to run out of supply. now, with this damn bug, all are again supplied and free to move.

Standard disclaimer....

We can only tell for sure in games started in 1.3, there is simply no telling what old problems got brought forward into patched games from 1.21.

The ZOC is recalculated and reset every turn so they should be constantly updating, Frag will be back in a few days and will be able to answer most questions he did the vast majority of the testing to this for the patch.

Pry - what I am seeing consistantly in games against both the AI and in a new PBEM is that z.o.c. isn't working in v1.30 . Place an lcu on a rail line with jungle on either side. An opposing lcu will go right through the first lcu and end up on the other side in one turn. Effectively, z.o.c. is gone, regardless of where the 'puter puts those little As and Js.

Things were better in v1.21 - at least there you could block an opponent and force him to fight you for the right to go through a choke point.
