I've seen lots of PT attacks, but I've never seen one where they were cloaked... Surface battle screen only showed one side, Japanese, Allied side was empty, no ships in it, yet torpedoes have sunk my DD and shots were received on some other ship too. As you can see in the report AAR shows only one side in the battle.
I could post a picture from surface battle if somebody told me how

Hey, at least your pilots could see them!

It sounds like a glitch in the combat animations...

Must be a mod where the Philadelphia Experiment to develop invisibility worked.

Youre wrong FDR...

This is obviously the result of the little known alliance between the United States and the Romulans. Two evil empires bent of galactic domination.

Tell that to my poor DD Kari...
I am not even sure those PTs are the ones that were involved in the surface battle
I really hope this was only combat animation problem

I think you borked yourself by having the AG(barges) in there along with major surface combatants. Plus, look at the SIZE of that formation! Holy shamoly! I don't think that the screen will SHOW all the units that you have there. Probably, that's why you never saw the PTs on the shooting screen. Now, as to why they aren't on the CR, I don't know.

What I would suggest is to keep the barges in their own TF and have the combatants in another SCTF following it, if you want to cover it.

And Pts do not rule. Counter example is one damaged Hibiki took down 3 of 4 that I had in Tarakan and never got hit. But they can get lucky, like any other weapon of destruction, given the right circumstances. Like one torp to the Kongo's mag space.....

When one side has one TF in a hex, and other side has multiple TFs, that single TF will initiate battles with all enemy TFs in hex. So if I leave AGs or any other non combat ships without escorts I am looking for trouble...
Transport TF limit is 100 ships, I wonder what would happen if such TF got intercepted :)

I don't like this much. I think there should be a possibility that some TFs are undetected or something to that effect. It amazes me that this is not the case, but is regarding ships IN a TF.

I don't like it either. I've spoken about it in another thread called "Is this normal?", where I had enemy surface combat TF that has lost a battle attacking my other TFs in the hex, which were transport invasion TFs. It is easy to exploit current system, all you have to do is to set base that you want to defend as home base, and put lots of some small ships in it to die along with BBs and CAs that will probably survive. You then just send your surface combat TF into the hex where you expect to be attacked (and which is home base to that TF, although you made it somewhere else), and watch your small ships sink causing whole TF to retire, not leaving the hex because it is in it's "home base", and attacking all other TFs in hex, which are of course transport TFs...
The way system works is that every friendly TF in hex is going to have battle with every enemy TF in hex if at least one side can initiate combat (has SC, ASW or bombardment TF). You can sink and damage almost whole enemy fleet without receiving a single shot, and stll the enemy survivors will proceed to annihilate your transports while your victorious surface combat TF stands by watching the fireworks...
