The 2 closest matches I found to this pic were the 1,000 lb GP Bomb Mk I and the 1,000 lb Target Identification Bomb No. B 2 Mk I. Both are British. Tough picture....sure would like to get a closer view of the nose.

Note to any lurking EOD techs...this is NOT a positive ID

Heh! I used to billet with some EOD grogs and trust me, they'd have fun with this one. Fact considering all the mulling I did over it when I saw it I wish one of them was here. LOL!! They'd have a ball trying to figure it out. THEN go crack open a cold one...

Indead they are, or Images I come across that I think are particulary interesting, if noted as "special edition", they are Not going to be Pacific War related.

Measuring my own (average sized) hand from tip of index finger to wrist (about 7"), and comparing to this guys, the shell is about 2x that size = 14" diameter. I am surprised - I was guessing on the 18" size.

Similarly, it is 6.5 x 7" = 45.5" long. Of course, if our demo hand is from a giant or dwarf, it will skew the results.

For those of you who are wondering, the 380 mm. diameter of this (finally identified) beast = 14.96".

Sorta redifines what "Big Bore" is huh:), at least for a Tank or SP, Thier is an incident related in the above link, and elswhear in some books I have of one shell taking out three Shermans at once in a town in early 45.

In the Real Red Mod for Close Combat III I used to have fun with these things as well

Try using them in Combat Mission (head and shoulders above CC) - you can take out entire companies. Nasty!
