I installled 1.4 and started to have problems with LCU movent orders in both my PBEM games (one started before installing 1.4, the other one after 1.4 installation).
Randomly I'm not able to set a destination to some units, while I have no problems with others.
Anyone else having this kinf of problem?

yep.

It started for me with 1.4

My problem is that some hexes will have a lot of units stacked in them (Chandpur, China, Sydney, etc). I'll pick one unit to march somewhere. It doesn't come up with a destination. But, if I look at the first unit in the stack (usually an HQ unit), it will have the marching orders that I wanted to give to the single unit. I then have to tell all units to march (thereby giving the one unit the correct orders), then go through the stack and remove marching orders for all the other units that I didn't want to move in the first place.

This doesn't happen at all bases, but in enough that it's pretty annoying.

Agree, it happens mostly in bases with several units. Sometimes it's possible to give the order to a different unit, but not always.

I'm running 1.40, have never seen this. Are you boys running any mods?

There is a known bug under 1.4 with selecting units for orders. If you give orders to a unit without it being the highlited unit at the bottom of the screen, then whatever orders you give are applied to the unit that is highlited. This usually happens when you click directly on the LCU symbol in the hex and then select the unit from the list.

dtrav thanks for the heads up. Easy enough to work around, but I never saw it mentioned....

True. It also happens when you select the flag synbol from the base display window tehn select from teh list, and when you select the flag from the bottom-left of the screen then select from the list.

It does not happen when you select the unit directly via the unit symbol at the bottom of the screen.

Hmm, haven't had it happen those ways. (Have had it happen the way I described.) I think from what Mr.Frag said the problem is when you don't have the unit's hex as the focus before selecting the unit. Oh well, the important thing is that the unit symbol at the bottom of the screen have the yellow box highlite. If not, you've got a problem.

Also keep in mind the new LCU movement rules, it wont let you move from one enemy occupied hex to another enemy occupied hex

Thanks very much as this has been driving me crazy in my two PBEM games and couldn't figure out why I would come back and no one would move or go the opposite way. I will check and make sure I follow advice of this post to see if resolved temporarily.

Look at the bottom row of your screen where all the units are. If you managed to select a unit and it DOES NOT have a yellow box around it, you are actually giving the movement orders to the unit that *DOES* have the yellow box around it, not the unit that you have up on your screen.

Simple fix until fixed for good ... click on the bottom row of units to bring up the unit panel. Then you will always be sure the unit getting the order is the correct unit.

I have wondered if this might be part of the leader bug issue ... since different folks select units in different ways ... it is possible that this type of glitch might be one of the ones we just can't seem to find as we all do things differently.

I am *VERY* interested in anyone who can figure out ways of selecting things without having them highlighted on the bottom rows.

I gave one way earlier in the thread. Start with the focus on some hex, click directly on the LCU symbol in another hex which brings up a listing of the LCUs in the second hex, select a unit from that list.

I know, but I'm not just talking LCU's here ... see if you can find ways of getting anything selected without it being highlighted

Got another one for you, Mr.Frag.

Select the hex (note, just the hex, not any base in it). Click on the 'flag' icon at the bottom of the screen to call up the list of LCUs in the hex. Select unit from that list. Highlite remains on the leftmost unit symbol at bottom of screen. Movement orders will affect highlited unit rather than unit in details window. But strangely 'Set Future Objective' affects the unit in the details window, not the highlited unit.

I've had a couple of other instances today. It appears that any selection of a specific LCU from the hex listing, regardless of how the list is brought up, has the same problem.

(Just as an amusing aside, this particular bug has caused the 1st RAA Coastal Artillery Regiment, a supposidly static unit in Sydney, to start marching up the east coast of Australia. )
