OK, someone help me out here.
I'm running patch 1.4 but this also happened in 1.3. I've got over 400,000 supplies at San Francisco. I'm trying to send supplies to Pagp Pago, San Diego and Pearl. I've tried large convoys of 25 ships and small ones of 1 ship. I set up my convoys on one turn and by the next they have disbanded, still at SF, just sitting there. What am I missing????? I've run into this on both scenarios 15 and 16 in the weeks of late December '41. The thing is that I've started both of these scenarios under 1.3 before, got to May of '42 and don't remember running into this before.

thanks

a) You don't need to send supplies to San Diego, it will flow over the rail there automatically

b) Is Computer Control turned on in the zone? (press your Z key, do zones say computer control?)

It may not be the west coast. Which areas are under human control?

Eastern Pacific (Hawaii, west coast) and South Pacific are human control, everything else computer control. You know, I don't remember this happening in the first few games I've started and went through to around May '42 when I got blown out of the water by large Japanese TF's and got so frustrated with it that I've started over.

Well I'll let Mr Frag handle this (if he chooses) (only because he knows what he is doing) but Where are you patched to and which version did you start?

You maybe- probably are suffering from an earlier problem. Make your Northeast area (Alaska) is under Human cintrol. It should clear up the problem

I had the same problem in Scen 15 in 1.30 and again in 1.40.

Formed transport TF in SF in Feb 1942, it was disbanded in port the next turn.

In 1.40 on 3 Feb 1942, I formed a transport TF with an assigned commander, 10 AKs and 3 destroyers. The next turn the TF and the 3 destroyers had sailed under command of the assigned commander, but all the AKs were disbanded in port.

In the game under 1.30, I tried for 6 game days to ship supplies before I quit.

Under 1.40, I have just stopped.

It is kind of a game breaker if you can't ship supplies.

Can you guys be a bit more specific so I can put this one to bed ...

Did you have the Zone on Computer Control *before* you formed the TF's? After?

Mr Frag

The problem occurs in early 1942 as Allies against AI. AFTER you turn the Northern (Alaska) sector to computer control Then convots formed at SFO leave without their cargo ships which stay and disband at SFO. I've sent a save before but abother is on the way of 5/31/42. Where you can cause the bug by turning the North secor to Computer control or fix it by turning it off. So it occurs immediately after you turn on Computer control but I don't have saves when this starts. But I hope ftroop6 and Ol_Dog do.

Ok, so it is convoys formed after toggling it on, that helps.

OK, up until a few days ago I always would play the BIG scenarios with only the three eastern sectors under human control, as the USN vs. a Japanese computer control. A few days ago I started a new game, can't remember if it was scenario 15 or 16 (maybe I tried both) but decided I would set the Alaska sector to computer control because not much was happening early in the game there. This was when I ran into the problem of ships disbanding at SF. I have since reset the Alaska sector to human control and have formed a transport task force, loaded it with supplies and it has loaded and began it's journey to the front!!! This had occured in both 1.3 and 1.4. I would send you saved games but don't know how.

That was exactly my problem. (When thru a coincidence I thought the convoys would turn to subs...)
Btw that problem propably haunts Karachi too, not only SFO.
When turning off computer controlled sectors, everything is ok again.

I have always played with West Coast and Alaska under my control, sometimes with Aus or DEA computer, sometimes mine, others always computer in Scen 15.

I haven't changed them except on 1st turn.

It could be other areas not being under human control. Have you tried ALL of the Areas under human control?

Going back to my original under 1.40, I had NE (Alaska) and East (West Coast) under human control, the others computer. Previously, the transports did not load but disbanded in port, the escorts sailed.

Changed all to human control - transports loaded, then sailed properly 4 days later.

Back to original - changed NZAUS to human control along with US and Alaska - transports started to load the next turn.

I have not tried the other combinations yet.

The convoys had been formed that turn, before the change in area control

So as I read this there is a fix for you, maybe not the same as for most of us, but one that works. Mr. Frag has a repeatable save so I believe it will be fixed in 1.5

I encountered this same problem. I had Russia on computer control. I went back to around 9 Jan 42, turned Russia to human control, then went forward. When the new arrivals were ready at Frisco on the 13th, I was able to form TFs and load them with supplies.

Belated thanks to all who gave this advice to me earlier. Sorry it took so long to get back and deliver kudos.
