Hit the print screen key, then get into a graphics program of some sort and paste.

One uv game?

Actually very cool considering most players have moved on to War in the Pacific like you.

I have 9 uv games in progress and six WitP.

Anyone care to challenge this roster?

I just haven`t managed to get WITP yet...
Then again, I am happy with UV.....

First, it is at a balanced period (not that interested in playing a 1944 scenario as Japan).

Also, the reality is, who will actually play a full PBEM game? It is a 4 year undertaking (assuming a close game, a blowout might finish in 2 years).

I am tempted (and at some point will get it, but even then, for the first year, probably just fooling around vs IA).

UV is playable and at a time period where the fighting is fun.

I'm absolutely content with Uncommon Valor as well. It's far handier than its progeny - at least in email mode. Despite their common engines, subject matter, and interfaces, uv is simply a much more playable game.

I'm still a UV player and though I recently purchased WiTP I'm thinking I will remain a UV Player for the most part. WiTP is overwhelming and I haven't even opened up one of the big scenarios. Just contenting myself with playing the Allies against the AI in scen 2 (fall of the DEI, Malaya, and Philippines). Even with the relatively small Allied forces and limited geographic scope it's still bigger than UV.
UV is eminently playable. As yet I don't get that sense with WiTP.

i can understand that lolz

WITP is ENORMOUS

as for UV, i LOVE it

1 of the best games ive ever played in my LONG gaming career

totally worth the trouble it caused at first

it wouldnt run on my computer, no matter wat i did, but my old computer is now 7 YEARS old, so it was just too obsolete

this computer im on is FAR FAR more powerful

for example

the HD on my old one is 20 GB

my NEW computers HD is 250 GB

1/4 of a terrabyte

this computer is far more powerful

ran HALO without any problems and quite blazingly fast

WITP is a work of art and there is no better simulation.

UV is a better game.

I have them both but just cannot commit to spending the next five years playing one campaign of WITP. The need to micromanage every thing just seems overwhelming to me. Some of the smaller scenarios perhaps when they get some of the few serious bugs fixed. In computer terms 5 years is a hell of a long time, and who knows what the state of computer gaming will be by then.

Already, I am reading on the forum about how so many games are ending as players drop out. Thats not fun.

I am currently engage in an UV PBEM with another French.

I will not begin to play WitP by PBEM or a long campaign vs the AI until they fix all the major bugs still around...

3 UV and 2 Witp games going on, had more but a few guy's dropped in WITP.
Most of the hard core players are slugging it out till the end though .
I will still play UV for years to come as long as there are newcomers to play
who have an interest....
And there is no better training software for WITP than UV.....

Still have 2 PBEM games going, both reaching a climax

Problem is Wobbly has gone to get married, nothing worse, play for 6 boring months of dodge and weave, then when we finally grapple, real life gets in the way.
We will finish it though.

UV is like a appetiser, a snack , before the WITP main course.....

You won't have to worry as if he got married UV and WITP should take
care of that silly little marriage thing quickly.

I have one game going too even though I have WitP (I'm Rogue's opponent).

The thing I like about UV is that you can do a turn in about 10 minutes once the initial turns get going.

How long does a WITP turn take?

It is a shame they can not break WITP down into theatres for different players to do...
So you have a central pacific admiral, south pacific admiral and an overall commander doling out resources and running the supply game....

Actually, if I understand you correctly, there are some PBEM games going that do just that. There's one that's a 3 on 3 game. Only time will tell if 6 people can keep going for a whole game. In fact, they already had to replace one player.

As for how long a WitP turn takes, I guess it depends on the person. It takes me about an hour per turn after the initial couple of turns, but I realistically could do it in a half hour if I focused a little more.

Well you can do that by assigning theaters to the AI to manage. However, the AI is so limited that most players are reluctant to do this. Biggest thing is that although you can assign production and supply to the AI-it does a pitiful job of it, so you really must micromanage this aspect of the game as well. It really gets hard and detailed and I think this turns a lot of players off.

The whole project was indeed a massive and ambitious undertaking. There was just bound to be problems.

Once you are into the flow of the game and everything is going mostly as planned
then it takes longer to run the combat turn than the time to micro adjust things.
As offensive and defensive actions are played out then it takes time to move divisions
and task forces around to set up your next objectives.
Genarally 10:00 - 35:00 mins AVG for turns with the occasional 1 - 2 hours of heavy
rearangement.

The Auto convoy system works OK if you keep it small and manageble like picking
several bases to have it run supplies too and then make your moves from those bases
so you could set it up like a UV system were say Truk gets the supply from Tokyo and
you divy it out from there, except you will have a dozen places like that.
