Hi, I'll try to find out what is going on as quickly as I can. I am running the game in the background to arrive at your time frame and see what happens.

Thank you, hopefully this isn't too much trouble. Maybe Matrix has a better way to test for these kind of problems available?

I'm not convinced: from the casualty reports, they're causing even more grief than the minefields. Shouldn't the air and naval bombardments have neutralized the CD guns?

There aren't any coastal guns and there are very few casualities.

Coastal Guns at Pearl Harbor, 112,68, firing at TF 1134
TF 1134 troops unloading over beach at Pearl Harbor, 112,68

138 Coastal gun shots fired in defense.
Allied Ships
CA Detroit

Allied ground losses:
209 casualties reported

Oh really? Then what was responsible for the above, and many more like it??

BTW, the "Detroit" was a CL, one of the Omaha class with mostly caissoned 6-inchers.

IT got sunk very early in the game, So it came back as a CA.

Mostly LCU artillery and the like. You have the ask one of the developers what gets classified as a "coastal gun". Look at the Midway invasion, there were thousands of "coastal guns" listed there and only maybe 50 or so where legit.

Those 209 losses were just op losses from landing. Remember you take these losses even when landing on unoccupied beaches.

That many?? I count over ten groups of such losses -- way too many for men stepping on sharp rocks. And getting back to my first point, naval and air bombardment should be even more damaging to LCU artillery than emplaced coastal guns. Maybe the fire suppression routine could use some tweaking?

You can ask Zeta16 how many losses he actually had. My guess is that they were mostly disruptions rather than lost equipment. He took PH in only four or five days so his units really weren't in too bad of a shape.

I do hope that the problem can be corrected as this is my favorite AAR. I spent X-Mas in internet isolation and found myself wondering on New Year's Day whether Zeta had gotten the nerve to go for Mogami Harbor (Zeta Harbor, I mean)! Are you really sure you need those 400 planes though Dude? At this point with the skilled pilot shortage you could say that their disappearance has robbed Zeta of 400 VPs!!!

And Hirohito could have been quite happy, because it looks like the ALLIES could be pulling a Hirohito strategy in 1944. Sure Dude has the big invincible army coming from China (well, that's the propaganda), but it is on a narrow supply line and the Allies appear to have total naval and air superiority. Zeta has the ability to land 100,000 troops pretty much anywhere he wants in the Pacific and Indian Ocean shorelines, and dude sure can't defend everything from hong Kong down to Singapore and over to Calcutta. That 500,000 man army looks like it would be ripe for having its supply line cut. Then it fights like a 125,000 man army and Zeta's Commonwealth Army can probably beat it. A strategic withdrawal towards Kirachi with the 500,000 man army in pursuit and then *wham* 75,000 Americans land near Calcutta, 25,000 Australians land in 3 or 4 groups elsewhere along the rail line and Dude is looking like the Ottoman Empire.

I think that this AAR has revealed there are some occupation limit short-comings -- the Japanese should have to garrison EVERY hex in China (and Russia) that they want supply to go through, not just the cities. Look at the problems the US is having in occuppying Iraq against the insurgents. 120,000+ US troops and they still have trouble with the supply lines. In China in the 1930s and 1940s it would have been a lot worse as the Japanese had less body and vehicle armor and their vehicles weren't as all-terrain as is currently the case and the guerrillas were much more extensive (and very nationalistic in their hatred of the Japanese; plus the old, failed regime of CKS was not too unpopular in contrast to Saddam). Garrison duty would have been the name of the game for japan in China and mainland Asia and that is not really replicated. If it were up to me, I'd put every japanese unit out of supply that couldn't trace a supply path back through other Japanese units in controlled hexes. That way at least the RR and roads would also get garrisoned. Same with the USSR, Malaysia, Burma, India and Vietnam.

The Zeke groups will come with pilots of 60 experience plus the planes are better armored. Not having several hundred of them is going to be a limitation. I'm mean if it's over and the Zekes don't matter, why even bother playing?

Yes, the Allies can land somewhere to cut the supply lines. However what happens when I move 15 divisions with 99 experience via railroad to the spot where they landed? Zeta will have problems unless he can gather a massive amount of divisions for the beachhead. Seems like a waste of Allied manpower when they would be better used for invading Japan.

Invading Japan might well be a better option for Zeta -- although the strategic bombing campaign would give him needed victory points and soften up the defenders prior to the invasion.

However, my point was that the allies have some opportunities for curtailing your invasion of India. I would think it would be a Hirohito-in-reverse strategy and the allies need not wait around for your 15 divisions to arrive, they could just hit some other point on the supply line like Lawrence of Arabia. But your 15 divisions might have to fight your way to the allies; a few hundred men along the rail hexes leading to the invasion hex would mean slower movement for your 15 divisions and more time for the allies to either withdraw or bolster their forces. Plus a small landing behind your 15 divisions and they, too, might find themselves out of supply. But my guess is the allies withdraw and land elsewhere -- they can land anywhere from Vladivostock to Singapore and then all over Burma/India (the key supply route). That's a lot of ground to cover. And who's to say a landing in Vladivostock isn't a feint to attract your core divisions far from the actual landing in Singapore?

It's a waste of Allied assets and will buy more time for Japan to get better deal in the final surrender terms. I encourage Zeta to do this.

I have no idea. Don't know if it will be fixed next week, next month, or not at all. I can't go on any longer because there isn't much potential for Japan to have air cover without lots of Zekes.

We are still waiting for an answer. I don't think anyone has gotten back to Dude in a long time. Kind of sad that no one will help him. If it can't be resloved I offered to play like a month ahead and not really attack of anything to see if they start to come or not. If that doesn't work maybe some can pick the game up from him and play. Or I can just get his password and see what was really going on. I am hoping for the best, but that I think is a long shot.

The game will move ahead again soon even if no information is forthcoming from the secret cabal known as Matrix. If the problem doesn't fix itself eventually, the game will have to be scraped.

Well, if it gets to the point that the Zeke issue can't be fixed, I have no problem handing the game over to some willing party. They should realize though that they have very few good planes at this point and the Zeke is the major aircraft of the Japanese arsenal. Mainly all that is left other than the Zekes are some Oscars, Tonys, and a few night fighters.

Other people had a similar problem and it couldn't be fixed either. Find the "Zero black hole" thread. It's probably just bad luck of some sort.

That's a HUGE problem!!! It means that none of the games can go after 1943....this is a must to be fixed!

I might have missed something, but details on Zeke problem seem to be a bit scarce

Are they just missing?, or organising?
With a very late seizure of the DEI, and a very early rampant Allied fleet cutting them of from Japan, is there any actual oil and Heavy industry to produce them?

Way I read it way back when the Horatio way was floated a lot of people warned that this would happen and we would see a mid 43 finish

Seems to me just the chickens coming home to roost
Of course more info on problem might prove me wrong?

Anyone else up to mid 43 and not recieving Zekes.?(or up to 43 and getting them!)
