Mine just happened. Forgot too set home port for Napa and the ai decided to send them all too TOKYO BAY (All most-while enroute to SF) Next thing I know i've got sinking ships everywhere.

CA Sunk, CL sunk, 5 AK's sunk, and 4 limping too Napa. Dog still hiding in the bedroom from the "Loud words" of grief.

So it used half your taskforce as artificial reefs to block the entrance to Tokio Bay? WOW... now thats inovative, never knew the AI to be THAT good in comming up with new tactics

The Allies did it at St. Nazaire (sp) in France in 43. Scuttled an old CA in the mouth of the port to shut it down. Just tell the Admiral that this was your plan all along and you will get a medal instead of a court martial.

Actually they used an ex-US four-piper DD stuffed with tons of high explosives to ram the lock of the Normandie dock and blow it to pieces, in March 1942.

Don't forget all the French and British WWI dreadnoughts scuttled at Normandy as a breakwater.

A Brit DD (HMS Campbelltown) was used to ram the dock.

I think he mixed in the Zeebrugge/Oostende raids from WWI, where the RN sank some old cruisers to block the German subs in their base in Brugge.
