Normally, at some point during the play, the game will decide that one side or the other has "won", even though there may be a lot of time left on the clock. Usually, this is ok, but sometimes your coup-de-grace is only 1 or 2 turns away, or perhaps you just want to play out a couple more turns to see how things go. To get the game back into "play mode" from "end-of-game mode", just select "New Game" from the Game menu, then hit "Cancel" at the dialog that comes up. The new Game dialog will disappear, and the game has forgotten that it's over - you can play another turn. Most likely, one side will win after the next turn, so you'll have to keep doing this each turn to keep playing. It's probably a security issue - if you're playing PBEM, you could examine the enemy's forces, and then pretend the game hadn't ended. On the other hand, sometimes I really want the scenario to continue - I'd prefer that this "feature" be left in.
