On the front page it says there's a Battles in Normandy demo, yet they dont tell you where to get it, which is quite odd. Anyways, where is it?

The demo can be found via the Matrix Games website.

Go to GAMES on the top of the Matrix menu, and select Battles In Normandy.

A BiN demo?!

May I ask why this (positive) departure from standard Matrix policy? It has always been an issue on the forums, this lack of demos. :)

from standard Matrix policy?

It is not "standard policy" if we feel a demo of a game can be done and is usefull (a demo for "War in the Pacific" for example is not, same for other games that require a lot of reading ) then we think about releasing one. Then also the developer needs to have the time to actually produce a demo.

We have some demos released for other games too. For example, Massive Assault, Starshatter, Starships Unlimited Divided Galaxies.

Either way it's good news. (although I'm certain if I searched the fora for 'standard Matrix policy' I'd pick up a lot of demo-related topics.)

Maybe sales have dropped off. Might be due to BiN being download /Online purchase only. KP was in the shops so maybe they havent sold as many as KP or expected more to be sold than actually went.

A demo is then a good way to go.

Yah, I tried downloading about an hour or two ago, got to 56MB and then it said download terminated by Sysop. When I refreshed the ftp session, the file was nowhere to be found in that directory.

you might want to update this page (which happens to be your front page):

http://www.matrixgames.com/default.asp?URL=http%3A//www.matrixgames.com/news/list.asp

where it says go to the ftp site to get it, and lo and behold it is not in that folder.

Thanks, not sure why it was moved. You can also get to it by clicking on the "Games" link in the top bar, then Battles In Normandy, then Get Demo.

Regards,

- Erik
