The wreckage of a large World War II-era Japanese submarine has been found by researchers in waters off Hawaii.

A research team from the University of Hawaii discovered the I-401 submarine Thursday during test dives off Oahu.

Quite a story. Did you see this bit?

quote:

An I-400 and I-401 were captured at sea a week after the Japanese surrendered in 1945. Their mission — which was never completed — reportedly was to use the aircraft to drop rats and insects infected with bubonic plague, cholera, typhus and other diseases on U.S. cities.

Troubling.

Fox is the most balanced of the news programs, unlike the 3 networks or the other cable services, they actually hire Conservatives and liberals and moderates, and they let all 3 have non news programs, they dont pretend that liberal newsmen are not unbiased. They accept that bias exsists and use a balanced approach to provide less biased news.

Hmmm. Given that Fox is owned by Rupert Murdoch, I always rate a news story that I find is sourced from there as highly dubious. But I will grant that there's no such thing as unbiased news any more.

It's called the straw man fallacy. You put up a weak opponent and bash him up, shout him down then declare victory and a mandate. Fool some of the people all of the time.

Yeah, and the Republicain Party actually had a Black guy [!] at there convention last year. That doesn't mean they have a balanced view.

But hey it's Amereica, "Live and Let live" at least until someone from Homeland security knocks on your door.

Well I've done my fire bombing for the day. I'm off to buy some $2.35 gas and help out some of the families of my guard buddies, who will be out of town for the next year or so. Feel FREE to bash my straw man while I'm gone.

Isn't that funny that they never fill out the "from" line in the profile. Looks like they are afraid of the homeland security.

Funny that you guys always try to insert your leftist whackjob fantasies into game threads.

Feel free to enlighten us on how Fox News and the evil Dubya conspired to slander the glorious Japanese Imperial Navy and make up stories about Japanese ambitions in regards to chemical and biological warfare. Here's the link to the relevent thread:

keep in mind reality is perception and every person’s perception is different. That’s how we end up with intelligent people on one side calling intelligent people on the other side stupid. They’re looking at the same world through different lenses. Until we back up and realize that opinions based on facts are still opinions, we’re always going to be separating ourselves into right and left.

Do you dispute the claim? It's not like the Japanese didn't use bio and chem weapons and would have gladly used a nuke had they had one.

Hi,

The Bataan Death March was really a cultural misunderstanding. The Japanese simply didn't understand that effete, corrupt westerners needed food and water to survive.

It depend… on timing.

The US had considerable stocks of chemical weapons at the time, should the Japanese have used biological weapons on Hawaii or the West Coast… it is not inconceivable that the US would have responded. The death toll in Japan from chemical attack could have been in the millions.

No, it's a gathering of people with guts enough to express themselves without whining to the moderators about how "unfair" it is that others are allowed to answer back. Unlike some people who sneak their "enlightened" opinions into game threads and then demand the threads be locked when they're made to look like fools.

Like I said, bring it. I'm one of the administrators, you have my personal guarantee that aside from items such as pornography, overt threats and spamming you're free to "enlighten" us to your heart's content. What are you afraid of? Need a skirt to hide behind?

Unfortunately I have to decline your the invitation. I have nothing to say there, as I haven’t noticed any posts about WitP.

And your are right, I don’t have guts to insult people I never saw nor happen to know in my life, and hopefully will never see in the future.

Although I see your point now about directing off topic outbursts to that place, where they all belong.

P.S. I have my own skirt already, although we call it a kilt here

I don't think the wacko left makes any more sense than the wacko right. News what news? Everytime I switch on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC it's nothing but Wacko Jackson, Terri Schivo, or other crap! It's funny or sad when you have to watch/read the english version of news from Japan or China to find out what's going on in the rest of the world and the U.S.

Bet you never heard this on the US news!
Twice last year China asked for Japanese help to come to China and clean up Chem/Bio Weapons found from WWII.
