Hi all,

I was just wondering what the plan was in terms of identifying & rating senior officers for WPO. For example - few if any of WWII's senior high ranking officers were much beyond Colonel or Captain in 1926 and many of WWI's were no longer on active service by then. Similarly, if we use WWI and WWII performance as the basis for the GOC & Flag Officer ratings how will the between war crowd be accurately rated??

Rob.

Just be thankful he doesn't have to look up spanish military leaders during 1905 and 1920 ugh what a horror that was!

Hehehehehe.

Actually, a few of the leaders are present in lower ratings, but most of the WW2 leaders we know and love, by the 1920's had not reached a command position yet, or had been assigned to stateside or east coast positions.

Sorry, this one got away from me. I am still deciding on some leaders, but most were either dead or retired, and a few in such high positions that they wouldn't be available. As an Easter egg though.... Admiral Jellico of Jutland fame will be in the 1922 scenarios. In 1921-1924, he was governor of New Zealand, and so for fun you can assign him as an Admiral.

Other good leaders to look for are Raymond Spruance, commander of the destroyer Osborne in the 1922 scenarios (arrives shortly after commissioning in 1925). Frank "Black Jack Fletcher" in command of the destroyer Whipple in the 1922 scenarios, and future Admiral John Tovey (of Bismarck fame) in command of the Destroyer Wolfhound.
