run SPWAW in XP PRO

I have an ATI ALl in Wonder 9800 series graphics card.

I set my resolution on my desktop to 800 x 600.

60mghz setting on monitor

I still can't get the game to resize on my monitor?!?

Why doesn't the game resize to fit on screen?

Is there a setting I have to change in game? I can't find it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers, Reddog

Can you please check if your graphic card river has someting like aspect ratio settings? I know this from LCD monitors, they will let you choose if you want applications running fullscreen or in the original size or fullscreen with original aspect ratio.

Well i checked the aspect ratio settings and I don't have the option to resize the windows (is it because I have an old crt monitor?)

When I first start SPWAW I watch the opening sequence animation in a normal (full) screen then when I get to the menu screen it shrinks my viewable space so I lose a couple of inches on the bottom and 3 or four inches on the right side...

I have seen this happen in some more recent/newer games but I can correct it in these game's preferences screens...

Cheers, Reddog

I also updated my drivers etc for my graphics card and turned down the refresh rate of my monitor but I still can't view all of Steel Panthers when I play the game. It looks like it is the right resolution but it is cutting off the right and the bottom of the game screen.

Oh well, maybe I have to wait for a newer version of SPWAW or ???

Thanks. Reddog

The only thing I can think of is, on your monitor there should be a built in setup menu, it should have it, try reseting your monitor to it's original factory setting and work up from there.

Hi,

try adjusting the monitor while SPWAW is running, so you can see the whole game interface. Normally the monitor remebers this.

Hehe I am back hoping the latest patch might solve my problems...

In any case it must be a monitor issue. Wether there is a reason it won't switch resolutions (maybe its broken) I can't change the settings during the game to see the whole game on screen. The monitor doesn't have this. The default setting on the monitor is 75 hertz and I can't physically change it on the monitor...oh well maybe I'll download to my wifes computer and see if it will work there. It should, her system is my old puter and old viewsonic monitor... sigh.. Thanks for trying
