Hi! Playing v1.4/Scen 16 as Allies vs. Japan AI, with all Allied areas under Human Control. Only 1/20/42, so defending New Guinea valiantly.

Have RAAF bomber units under Australia Command in PM and Lae. Want to transfer/re-base some to Gili Gili, which has an SW Pac engineer unit in it, though base is (still) under Australia Command. Though plenty of range, supplies, etc., they refuse to transfer to Gili Gili saying not possible, though other Australia Command bases throughout New Guinea are valid re-base possibilities (without engineers).

Is this a bug? (i.e. they should be able to transfer to Gili Gili?). Or is there some limit on Australia Command or the presence of the SW Pac engineer unit that I am running up against?

Australia command is a restricted HQ. Yuo have got to change the planes to SWPA by using political points. btw New Zealand USAFFE and ABDA are also retricted HQ's as is West Coast.

It's because Gili Gili has no airfield at that time. If you have a BF there you could send Aus Command seaplanes though. Better get your Engs digging if you want LBA stationed there.

You are right- I'm a chucklehead. Base is almost there with my engineer, but not quite yet. Was looking at SPS rather than actual size.
