Update: Bug found and fixed in scenarios.

I have found a fault in my modified scenarios for WitP 1.5. The HI and resources for Chengting and Tientsing were messed up while I was adjusting the HI/resource allocations in China after adding a few new bases. While not a gamebreaker it affects Japanese production.

I have fixed the scenarios and upload the fixed versions (version 3d). Sorry for the stuffup.


I have managed to complete two updated scenarios, based on patch 1.5, for use with my map. The scenarios I have so far converted are 15 (to scenario 115) and 16 (to scenario 116).

This has taken longer than I expected as I also decided to include some revisions to China that are still being researched (originally for the CHS scenario). As such these updated scenarios are a bit experimental. If they require revision I will fix them.

The updated scenarios can be downloaded form my website:

As always, please let me know if you have any problems with these scenarios.

Note: These scenarios can only be used with my map, which is available here.

At the moment documentation is minimal. I will write some later, but in the meantime, here is a very short list of the major changes since the previous version:

- Nanning and Pakhoi changed to Chinese ownership.

- Akyab moved to hex 30,28.

- Added several new bases:
Liuchow (41, 37)
Linfen (50, 30)
Tuyun (41, 35)
Tsinan (53, 32)
Suchow (52,34)
Ningpo (52, 40)
Cox's Bazaar (31,26)

- Chinese and Japanese forces adjusted to account for new and changed
bases.

- Corrected/changed several base names:
Khota Bharu -> Kota Bharu
Kiungahan -> Kiungshan
Luang Prabang -> Luangprabang
Paotang -> Pioting
Bonin -> Bonin Islands
Tongatapu -> Tongarapu
Bikini -> Bikini Atoll
Ha'apai Island -> Ha'apai
Batan Island -> Batan Islands

- Many bases have modified port/airfield and SPS values.

- Many empty bases have had their supply and fuel stocks reduced or
eliminated.

- Sorong no longer supplies oil.

- The resources output of Toboali has been cut by 50%.

So do the maps need to be 3C now Andrew?

Existing Andy Map ( 3B ) hasn't been updated to add things like names for the new bases ... so Halsey is anticipating a "3C" version which would do at least this ... but if Andy adds more changes ... he will probably go to "4A" ...

EDIT: Actually his web-site does reference a 3C version of the map for the new 115 and 116 scenarios ... so 3C may be the next version !

Actually when I update the map I usually update the version number, except for verion 3b which was just a "bug" fix.

If/when the next version is released it will be 4a (and I will update the scenarios to match)

Andy, if I install these new scenarios, but decide to continue playing my present game, will the location change of Akyab show up and/or cause any problems? I'm in an interesting part of the war right now and thought that I would play another month of two before I restart.

The new/updated bases won't affect any current game - the base data is incorporated into the game files when you start a new game, and is saved/reloaded when the game is.

Sure Andrew, destroy the quality name that the CHM has developed with your stuff up!
We have never made a mistake... except maybe the Kate range problem, and those others... but there were martinis involved sothey don't count!

I'm already "died in the wool" for CHS anyway,so my gameplay is on hold till you folks can release that mod for 1.5....IMHO *ALL* else can wait.

Obviously when I am updating scenarios at 1AM I operate as if I was drinking martinis

I have fixed the bug (I HOPE), and even fixed a couple of minor leader issues, and added a missing Canadian base force as well. I want to add a couple of things that pry has added to his latest scenarios, but that will have to wait for now.

The new, version 3d, scenarios, are uploaded and ready to go:

Let's hope that these are OK. As always, please let me know if there are any problems with these scenarios.

As always i thank u for the great work you're offering us.

I just started 2 pbem with your converted scenario, one as allies and the other as japan. But now you say there was a little bug...can i know what kind of bug? Just to understand if it's something serious that needs a restart or not....

Actually, it was a bigger mistake than I first realised. I managed to wipe out all of the heavy industry in Chengting. In my revised scenario there should be 180 HI there. If the Japanese player can do without these 180 HI then continue, otherwise you will need to start again.

Again, sorry about the stuff up.

no problem mate. Just another question: let's say i have another 115 scen pbem game going on, and i want to restart the other one...so i dl your updated scenario and map and start a whole new game with scen 115....how this will effect the other running game with the previous scenario version?

From what I understand, it will make no difference. The senario data is only read once when the game is started.

Andrew, I DL'd your first v1.5 revised scenario115 (version 3c I beleive), and I'm looking in a Location database: Location 378 - Chengting, has 3 manpower, 240 resources and 240 HI.

Thank you Andrew! So where else in the commercial gaming industry does one go where updates and mods are done freely by users/gamers and are shared for all to enjoy!? I think of all the games I have bought through the years that I played a few times then put in a box and threw it into the attic...

Strange. When I checked in-game I saw two lots of resources (180 and 240) and no HI. I have overwritten the files now so I can't check again. Anyway, in the updated version there should be 180 resources and 180 HI in Chengting.

Yes, that's right. The scenarios do not interfere with each other. The exception is when you are using alternative game art for one scenario (or using my map for one and the stock map for another).

I plan to do more scenario updates soon, but I have been working on the CHS scenario instead. I have almost finished a version of the CHS that uses my "normal" map (without the Aden and Panama extensions). After the latest round of work on the CHS is done I will return to updating my scenarios. Scenarios 115 and 116 have already been updated to the 1.5 level, however, and you can still run the others using 1.5 - you just won't get the OOB updates with them.
