Hello All,

I'm fairly new to UV and I was wondering if anyone can explain to me whether altitudes of planes and fighters makes a big difference? For example, using Japanese bombers to attack an Allied airfield, I let them bomb from 6000 meters. What kind of effect would it have if I went higher or lower? What about dive bombers and fighters? Is a high CAP always better than a lower one? Will divebombers achieve more accuracy if they are lower, etc?

My fighters always seem to have a really hard time shooting down enemy planes even if they outnumber them 3:1. And yes, I do check whether they are fatigued and whether their morale is ok. If someone please could explain in detail, I would appreciate it.

Fighters escorting will adjust their elevation to about 3000 above the bombers they are escorting.

CAP is good to be high but if you have CAP at 15000 and the bombers come in at 6000, your CAP might miss them. Also, the portion of the fighter group left on the ground will try to sortie also and that's when cli,b rating comes into effect.

Thanks. What about dive bombers and level bombers? Does altitude effect accuracy?

The altitude you set is what they fly to and from the target at. On their runs, they go to a preset altitude. Your planes will take flak at the altitude you set and then again at the approach run altitude.

It is always best too fly Recon missions of bases that you want too strike before hand
for added detection of troop strengths and vessals in ports, the accuracy will increase on
hitting ports, airfields and ground troops from recon missions.
Also fly naval search missions too increase detection of ships and convoys.
Stagger your squadrons altitudes to make the cap work harder from the base,
this will cause fatiuge and lower accuracy as they have to fly too different altitudes
and may miss a lot of aircraft..
If you bomb bases at lower altitudes you will suffer from heavy flak but achieve sometimes
better results, though you will want well rested squadrons.
Fighter aircraft on strafing runs at 100 feet also will teer up planes and ground troops
but also cause heavy fatiuge.
Train up your level bombers to above 60% - 70% and fly some at 100 feet against shipping
and they will strafe and skip bomb ships, but manage them carefully cause fatiuge will be
very high... ( B25J'S are best at it )
Also learn to rest and rotate squadrons constantly to manage fatiuge levels while providing
sustained attacks of bases, fatiuge is one of your biggest pilot killers......
