Matrix Games Signs SSG’s Battles In Italy!
Award-Winning Decisive Battles in World War II Series Continues!

Staten Island, NY, March 4th, 2004 - Matrix Games (www.matrixgames.com) announced today that they have secured the rights to bring Battles In Italy, the next game in the Decisive Battles of World War II series from Strategic Studies Group (www.ssg.com.au), to the PC later this year. Previous titles in The Decisive Battles series, which includes The Ardennes Offensive, Korsun Pocket and Battles in Normandy, have won a string of Editor’s Choice and Wargame of the Year awards and continue to earn the highest marks and player accolades.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said, “We are delighted to bring the outstanding Decisive Battles series to wargamers around the world. Battles In Italy is shaping up to be the best yet, which considering the pedigree of the series will be quite an accomplishment!”

The Decisive Battles series focuses on turn-based regimental-level combat in World War II, with each title focusing on a campaign and covering the battles therein. Battles In Italy will bring wargamers to the beaches and mountains of Sicily, Salerno and Anzio to re-create the historic landings and the march up the boot of Italy. The elegant design, superb AI and attention to historical accuracy in the series have been hallmarks of the quality work wargamers have come to expect from the designers and developers at Strategic Studies Group.

For more information, check the main Matrix Games page at www.matrixgames.com and the SSG website at www.ssg.com.au.

Which makes a release at the end of May(ish) seem a realistic hope.
