I do know that some guys here bought Silent Hinter III. There are lots of complaints about SH 3 because it only supports a resolution of 1024*768. The SH 3 community found a way to increase the resolution...use this tool and that modded file etc. I tried it once (I own a 19'' TFT with a native resolution of 1280*1024, so smaller resolutions result in a blurry picture), it worked but haven't digged further into it.

My thougt: basically WitP has the same "problem". If you use a TFT with a highter native resolution the screen has to interpolate the game's resolution. Did anyone ever thought of giging it a try?

No way that I know to increase the resolution. Have you tried setting your desktop to the native resolution and running in windowed mode?

1)

The way described in the SimHQ posting doesn't work for me with WitP, but I expected this.

2)

Yes, the game looks very sharp then, too bad that it is in a window only. Would be sooo nice to have that clearness in 1280*1024

EDIT: spelling

Do you really need higher resolution?

Well, I don't NEED it, but if there is the possibility (it seems there is not), why not try to get it? Higher resolution, more space on screen.

Yes, i do really need a bigger resolution,
I have a 23", in native resolution 1920*1200 and WITP has really too big pixels, it's a pitty that i can't have a larger part of the map on my screen and that i have a kind of continuous "zoom" feeling

Since it's 2d, it means the graphics are designed in advance to fit a certain resolution

Yes, I totally ignored this. Even if we get the game to run in 1280*1024 all the ingame bmp would have to be interpolated anyway...so no gain.

Not necessarily. A differently designed interface would probably keep certain items fixed in size but as the size of the whole window increased the extra space would be given over to the map which is around 6300x5700 and not likely to fill anyones screen.

Exactly. Very very few of the "interface elements" are "required" to run in 1024 mode.

Pop up windows, main map, various option boxes... they would all work in any resolution without rescaling.

O.
