I remember my 1/700 waterline collection , I loved those subs,

These units are really rather good in this game as they spot convoys so well , has anyone seen them in naval attack are they any use with 2 x 30kg bombs , is it worth it using them like that , I suppose you do not risk the sub and may get an AP to return home ?

Regards
Michael

Game wise they are probably over-effective as there is no routine to account for the increased vulnerabilty due to the time needed to prepare/launch the seaplane.

Glens cannot fly offensive missions, since at least 3 aircraft need to fly for one to occur. The only way you are likely to see Glen's attacking anything will be if they happen to hit a ship while on Naval Search or ASW.

Fair point also there range seems quite long , is it 4 hexes ?
Maybe to have shown difficulty in use the range could have been 2
Have not got the game open at the moment so cannot check

Maybe someone else can pipe in here, but I am pretty sure that a squadron has to have 3 flyable aircraft in order to fly an offensive mission. Since all the Glen units on subs have 1 aircraft, they can be assigned the mission, but will never fly it.

I think it's only 2 aircraft. I know for sure that you need more than 1. I don't know if it's 2 or 3, though.

If only 1, then only search type missions will be flown. Even though you can pick other missions.

Some players say they use them for Recon missions (although i guess you could say that is a kind of search mission).

...but in so doing the only thing that is located for certain is the submarine itself....
