What stops a Japanese player from creating their own "fixed" scenario with tons of pilots, modded planes and weapons then starting turn 1 as Japan and then send to his opponent?

is there any way the Allied player can know what scenario the game is base on?

I'm not sure but I would think that the data files would have to match otherwise major bugs would appear. I seem to remember someone saying that the Allied player would get a message saying the scenario had been modified or words to that effect.

You can always check it. Go to in-game preferences menu screen, in left low corner you see scenario description – “this is official campaign” or “user’s scenario”, no way to cheat if you’re playing official scenarios…

This board is getting crazier and crazier by hour

Kaiser, click on the (I believe) second button on the toolbar, the one where you can change preferences for the ongoing game. In the bottom, you'll see something similar to:

"This is scenario 15, an official WITP campaign."

In case it was not an official campaign, you'd se something similar to:

"You play scenario XY, which has been edited and/or tampered with, and yoz should check that with your opponent."

Of course if you play edited scenatio by your own free will, and according to agreement with your opponent than that's what you should expect to see.

O.

Hello...

Scenario has not been modified:
"This is an official War in the Pacific Campaign".

Scenario was created by end user"
"This is a user designed campaign"

Scenario was official, but some one edited it:
"Warning: This official War in the Pacific Campaign had been edited,
which could lead to unbalanced play. Please check with other player."

Player opened the wrong software application:
"Click here, to see sexy Sally in the shower."

Hope this Helps...

Michael Wood

Sally's a redhead, she only works when she feels like it.

What about running a replay over and over, how much variation will there be for things like surfase combat, just curious.. I know my pbem friends would never cheat?

Running the replay over and over means nothing. Japan running the real turn produces the results. The replay is nothing more then a replay.
