MkXIV and myself will be running seperated AAR's for this one. So if you have stumbled into this thread MkXIV leave now :)

I'll go over my general battle plan after turn 1 gets run, the settings are:

Sub Docs :OFF
Historical 1st turn : NO (Allied dosn't move , but I dont' attack ports other then PH)
MSW : only 5 ships in a MSW flotila.
Allied DC: ON

Think that about covers it.

The war is under way !! Today marks the beginning of a glorious campaign. Bases
invaded intially :

Wake (captured)
Batan (captured)
Davao
Kuching
Khota Bharu
Cagayan
Lingayen
Laoag
Vigan
Legaspi
Aparri
Hong Kong
Guam

PH went well , with the Oklahoma and Californa BB's confirmed sunk immediatly. The KB's escourt float plans where thrown into the mix with a "kitchen sink" attitude.

The overall battleplan for the moment is pretty streight foward. Secure the PI , Malya. A sub net has been setup around PH in hopes of catching flee'ing ships. KB is going to hit PH once or twice more , then depending on how ambitioiusly he tries to retreat ships home possibly go hunting. Because we did so much damage to the BB's in our inital strike the follow up wave is being ordered to attack from higher altitude to mimize losses. If we fail to see any flee'ing fleets worth our time KB will head back twords the PI to wrap things up there and keep the american CV's from causing trouble.

CVL's aside from the Rayjo(sp?) have been assemebled into a mini CV fleet which will prowl the South China Sea seeking' whatever it may find. Largly I'm going to do my best to keep BB's out of the mix except for a turn or two of bombardments during invasions. My hope is that I can use them as hammer blows if I catch force Z or similarlly juicy target.

On the ground shock attacks are order almost everywhere.

Today saw a lot of carnage. Most inital invasion points where secured today:

Intial Invasion List:
Wake (7th)
Batan (7th)
Davao
Hong Kong
Kuching(Captured)
Khota Bharu(Captured)
Cagayan(Caputred)
Lingayen(Captured)
Laoag(Captured)
Vigan(Captured)
Legaspi(Captured)
Aparri(Captured)
Guam (Captured)
Jolo (Captured)(Was invaded on the 7th I forgot to list it)

Only Hong Kong and Davo hold out against todays assaults. Forces also started landing on the 7th to take along star(sp?) in Malaya , they are still unloading. Today I also organized the China offensive and got the troops mobolized there.

However todays gains did not come without cost. Our landing fleet at Wake was assaulted by one of the american carriers. 2 CL's are severly damaged in the attack. All the troops are ashore here , the landing fleet was split up. The enemy CV group sits SE of wake aprox 200 miles and was last reported heading west. This means it has cut off the fleet escape rout to get to Kwajwa(sp?) south of wake. The 2 horribly wounded CL's have been sent directly into the path of the CV in hopes they will intercept it and get a few shots before sinking. It is unlikly they will accomplish anything, but they need to stall the CV if at all possible. The DD's where all sent SW thow they are allowed the option to intercept , this way they might get in a night attack on the CV's , if they don't intercept it's ok they are at full throttle so will likly make it out of harms way. The transports still laden with supplies where sent north to hold out of range till the CV threat is gone. KB has been informed of this most high priority target.

The second wave of attacks on PH went over smashingly. I can safly say their fleet is in tatters now. Another BB was confirmed sunk and likly others will not survive. Also an enemy sub was hit severly. It dosn't apear that he is attempting to fleet PH so KB is being directed west with all speed in hopes of catching the american CV that caught us off guard.

The PI look like what happens if you step on an ant hill. Ships and subs are spotted heading in every which direction. Many subs assault the ships attempting to unload in north PI invasion points. The fleets here are split, reogranized and only transports whom are still laden with supplies will remain , bombardment fleets have been sent home as well with only a small TF here and there for ASW work. In the SE portion of the PI many transports are spotted flee'ing E/SE , the CVL Ruyjo(sp?) is ordered to "have fun". Many small surface combat TF's are formed around this area out of the escort gun boats from the invasion fleets in hopes of sinking a lot of trasports before they get into real open water. We won't get them all but we want a lot of them dead.

A truly eventfull day , I did sustain a lot of AP damage today however I belive the allies will suffor heavily tommarow.

Today his seecond CV force near wake apeared to annhilate what was left of my transport ships there. Also the ill fated CL's are done for. The destroyers that broke off however escaped the CV's wrath. They are set to move slightly closer in hopes of again making a run for the CV's at night. The KB of course steams full speed twords the battle zone. It needs the enemy CV's to stay still for 3 days....

The PI is chaos personified. Enemy PT boats are gunned down by my fast response light surface force , I lose one PC when the pair run into an enemy destroyer. Some enemy transports are hit. More warships are being rushed ot the sceen to try and help cull the heard of flee'ing allied vessels. Warships already on station are broken into smaller TF's of pairs to hunt down whatever they can catch.

Elsewhere we continue to try and get our supplies and troops unloaded under a hail of allied air raids. Our attacks on their airfields seem to do nothing. The big question on everyones mind right now is .... will the KB catchthe american CV's.

Aparently tired from last nights escapades both navies basicly avoided each other. Well except for my CVL Ryujo "Spirit of the Samuri" whom beat on some flee'ing trasports. Hopefully tonight will serve up better results from my fast attack groups. Also more surface combat TF's should arrive on the sceen tommarow.

Here is the sceen around the PI.

Day 11 Continued -

The american CV's are racing south. One group going SE twords Canton? The other SW to god only knows where. The KB is going to alter course and shead off it's slower elements in an effort to intercept the flee'ing americans. Here is the battleplan , I call operation "Osoto Gari":

The chase is defenitly on. Today my float planes got in on the action south of PI. It was so effective now every float plane in the area is sent out to hunt transports tommarow. Most ships are sent racing after the flee'ing trasports in hopes of sinking most before they get under cover of LBA.

Dec 13th...

Sadly bad weather has blinded KB. We do not know if we are in spitting distance or not from ETF's. We have enough fuel for 1 more days hunt then will be forced to port for fuel. The real news today is that south of the PI the night sky was awash with flames and explosions. My small hunting packs struck flee'ing allied shipping with vigor.

By morning many allied trasports had been sunk and more burning. However the terror was just beginning for the allied captains. All day long the CVL Ryujo sent planes into the sky to rain down death from above. Intellegence sources tell us the name Ryujo is already spoken even in amercia. Truly this is a ship blessed by the ancestors , the allied attempted to futily bomb her from LBA but failed. They where lucky all her fighters where concentrating on allied shipping , tommarow if they try again they will meet with reisitence.

A hearty nod of apoval should be sent out ot the various float plane pilots today whom launched from various CA/CS/ and CL's in the area to join in the hunt. The situation as it looks today:

***KB status report***

...Somewhere N/NW of Baker Island...

Arrived at suspected intercept point on the 13th. Failed to locate ETF's. Bad weather hampering search efforts. Fuel running low. Alternate return rout planned to extend the search.

*****

While the failure of the KB to locate ETF's due to weather is really frustrating closer to home plans are proceeding on schedual. Phase 1 of the PI invasion went off without a hitch. Phase 2 is starting and troops are loading. Apparii will be build up as a staging base for future phases during this phase as well:

South of PI another day of pure allied shipping destruction happened. I am satisfied with the results in this area. The CVL Ryujo "Samuri Spirit" has been ordered back to port. She will reform with her escorts tommarow , using that time as well to kill any stranglers she finds , then return to port to reward her Claude pilots with Zero's.

Dec 15th.

Admiral Nugumo reports total failure to locate the ETF's despite all efforts. Weather played a big role in saving them from the fate that should have befalled them.

Day 15 continued-

The invasion of Malaya is proceeding on schedual. The allied seem to have retreated all their air power outside of singapore north. Also one of our land units decides to climb a bloody mountain rather then go into the hex the enemy was in It only took them a couple days to get up it but it's going to take them a heck of a lot longer to get down it stalling my advance. Looks like they will get to retreat to singapore and we will have to siege it.

All naval action today quieted down today as my ships break off their pursuit and head to Palau to refuel / rearm. Today also saw our renewed effort to smash the enemy aircraft on the ground.

Not much happened today. My opponent has taken it appon himself to mine my ports with subs. Perhaps it's an effort to prevent KB from refueling ? If so it's a wasted one.

He has been extremly aggresive with his subs , sailing them into my ports and even twords osaka. Today they managed to cripple some trasports. My sub net around PH has failed to catch anything yet , but I remain hopefull. I am reinforcing my postions in PI preparing for the inevitable siege of clark field , same story different name in Malaya.
