I recently downloaded V4.5 and as I was preparing to load it into my system it said that I needed VID998.SMK or V4.5 wouldn't work. What is VID998.SMK and how do I determine if I have it in my system.

Just under the POST A Reply next to Register is the search F(n). Just looking in the Tech Suppprt Forum I found 3 topics relating to VID988.smk see if these help. I'd also queary the SPWAW forum as well. Very soon will be the 5.0 release. Itprobably would be a great $20 investment to get on the order list for that CD.

It happened to me as well (the vid998.smk problem)...in addition to running into 4 .wav problems during the process. These are not good things. I also read thru the 3 previous topics. No help. I mean, I DO have a sound card...

VID998.SMK should be the opening movie of SPWAW where you can see logos from Matrix and all the nice people that helped the WaW dream to come true (Wild Bill & the raiders etc). The file should be in the sound/stream subfolder of WaW if i remember well. Try to use the find function of the Windows explorer for this file and see if it is really on your comp. This sould be a big 50Mb file. It sould be installed by the standard big WaW installer (the 300Mb one) ...
