When the SPWAW version 5 is released, I am anticipating doing some battles over the internet. I've never indulged in this type of competition before, so I am admitting I am completely new at this. I've got 2 computers side by side, both on windows ME, 1 computer a pen III and the other a pen IV at 1 ghz and 1.5ghz respectively. The pen IV is currently on DSL service (ethernet) and the other computer is on AOL modem. I am in precess of connecting a hub.( etherfast cable/dsl router) to my system and will have it connected once I buy a extra long usb cord to hook up my printer which sits way accross the room, to my computer. (it now is hooked to the pen III). As info, I have no trouble playing SPWAW versis the AI or hotseat on my system. I do have feelers out to compete against other folks and I realy don't want to frustrate them because of my ignorance. Will the new V5 rulebook of SPWAW have step by step directions on connecting and PBEM instructions. Tks for any help you can give. If need be my e-mail address is millerdp@swbell.net.

Remember with DSL, you are on the Internet and vulnerable to hacker attacks. You should have some form of firewall software which then complicates the task of playing SPWaW through it. Its not impossible, you just have to be sure to configure the firewall to allow this. McAfee & Norton offer personal firewall kits. If you think that you are not wide open to hackers, go to WWW.GRC.COM and follow the links to Shields UP. You put in your IP address and it scans your system and tells you how vulnerable you are.
