I installed the new patch and ran a PBEM turn as Japan but have had some issues pop up. I am playing AB scenario 115:

1. There was no combat replay even though I selected the option.
2. The combat replay and operations report buttons did not show up on the bar at the top of the screen.
3. I could not load units into transports at Palau.

Please see the various FAQs posted about points 1 and 2. These are conversion issues which will go away after the second turn if you follow the posted instructions on updating your PBEM game.

No idea on point #3, please post more info or send a save to Frag for examination please. Well, one idea - were you using an alternate map and didn't restore its pwhex.dat file after updating? See Andrew's posted FAQ if you were using an alternate map.

Me and my Jap oppenent had this problem, he sent me the turn under 1.5, i upgraded to 1.6 and open the turn as Allied. I had no combat replays, but the problem should resolve itself after hes upgraded to 1.6 and sent me a turn under it?

Clearly a pwhex.dat problem. Patch put in modified one. You have to have exactly the same file. If you use CHS copy it into WitP folder and e-mail it to your opponent. Rerun your turns from 1.5 to 1.6. First turn will have options blacked out. Second one will be normal.

Little Joe: It worked for me. First turn after patch I got no animations. Second turn all was fine.

I'll re-post this here:

Here's a FAQ from Mike on the new PBEM sync and updating to v1.60:

PBEM Turn Sequence:

1) Japanese player gives orders. He saves the game. The saving routine looks at his settings for combat reports, summaries and animations and saves them.

2) Allied player gives orders. He saves game. The saving routine ignores his settings for combat reports, summaries and animations.

3) Japanese player executes turn resolution. The game looks at the settings saved during Japanese orders phase and uses those for execution. The settings in current use are saved elsewhere and restored after execution.

4) Allied player executes turn resolution. The game looks at the settings saved during Japanese orders phase and uses those for execution. The settings in current use are saved elsewhere and restored after execution.

5) Goto 1). If the Japanese player wishes to change settings, he so does.

In all cases and at all times in PBEM game, the hot keys for combat reports, combat summaries, combat animations and the ESC [escape] key do not function.

I reran Andrew Brown's batch file and it fixed problem number three by overwriting the new .dat file with the older one.
