Eric, regarding the casuality reports....what type of battle is it that can result in one side receiving 5560 casualties and the other side 0?..I've heard of routs, but this?.....

Not 100% sure as I didn't watch that one, but... if one side was of particularly low morale/supply and was quickly routed at the start of the engagement, the casualties could have been incurred during the rout/pursuit rather than in "normal" battle. Also, forces cut off from LOS/LOC have a greater chance to surrender, which could have caused something like that.

Regards,

- Erik

Erik, any chance you can show the "Inspecting All Units" screen for the Russians?

Becket,

Here you go - impossible to fit their forces on one screen, unfortunately. You can get an idea from the slider positions how much there is. This is from the 1805 scenario.

On many of the tactical maps, I've noticed that all units are visible, even though some may be behind LOS cover, trees or hills for example. Is there a fog of war on the tactical map? Will I be able to replicate a reverse slope strategy or sneak up on a column via heavy woods (French to Austrians at Eckmuhl?)

Absolutely. All units are not visible and LOS and fog of war does apply in tactical battles. All of what you mentioned is very possible.

Awesome, thanks Erik. I have pitifully scant knowledge of this era, but great interest in learning about it. Can't wait.

It just means it's in port. You can move it out of the province into a sea zone.

What about trade routes? Can they be displayed on the map showing what is being traded and between what ports?

Great jod guys, I'm looking forward to playing this.

Yes they can! The trade routes view can be toggled on and off from the main screen. The resource icons below move back and forth along the trade routes.

Ok, some screenshots of diplomacy and trade... trade routes can be displayed on the map when you click on a province with an active trade route. Attitudes of unaligned minors can also be displayed and major and minor power relations can be viewed in a variety of ways through screens, map and province relation info button.

I didn't realize that the Economic and Diplomatic portions of the game were so detailed. This is going to be one sweet game.

There are several things that influence advancements and nations get starting advancements in each scenario based on their historical advantages. Here's an excerpt from the manual talking about some of the possible advancements.

Have not words for what I think of this game!!!

I am a fun of EiA and I am always thinking how to improve the naval battles, trading and national features...looks like CoG has done it.

Really awsome work with graphics, congratulations.
Looks also to me that there had been a great work with the trade routes and economics with all nations.

I am going to enjoy this game for sure.

Congratulations again to all the development team.

Some questions:

1. To what degree does the AI use the many trade and diplomatic features? Will it be up to the player to initiate trade proposals and diplomatic moves/proposals? (hope not as that would ruin gameplay)

2. Have you implemented a "bad boy" system to prevent or make a world conquest extremely difficult?

3. Will it be possiple to mod the game so the player can play a minor?...I really would like to play Denmark

Regards...the screens look great...more please!

So...

Crossed swords = At war
Red face = Unfriendly
Green face = Friendly

What about :

Yellow triangle = Allied ?
Blue face = Neutral ?

Is that about right, and are there any more symbols not shown?

There's currently no mechanism for playing a minor country. It would be possible to make a scenario which replaced a major country we have now with a minor country (for instance, we could make a scenario that turns Spain into a minor country and Denmark into a major country. Most of the names would be changed properly in a case like this, though some of the background graphics are hard-coded and would remain Spanish.)

I see that as Nationalism tech advances, the advantages increase; but March Training, Massed Artillery, and Field Medicine don't increase after their first level. What incentive is there to increase these techs above their first tier?
