Morning Ladies & Gent's.
I am inprocess of building a second system for my home to be used by me for spwaw,psp7, and online gaming. So my wife can surf her boards and e-bay with the other system.
My Questions is what is everyone's feelings on either Intel or Amd as processor of choice and why.
Thanks.

I would go with an AMD system. Quite simple as AMD has the best price/performance ratio and the possibility to use DDR-ram. Use the money saved to get a better monitor, keyboard and mouse. Those three things are the most important pieces of hardware since you use them to interact with your computer for hours and hours. Gaming, surfing and PSP7 are all done quite nicely on a XP 1500+ (even a TB1200/266) with a good video card, 256mb ram and a decent hard drive. Regards, Lars

I agree 100%. Get an AMD, excellent price/quality ratio on that one. I run them on my machine, and am very satiesfied. With those new CPU´s be sure to get a decent cooler. Don´t try to save your bucks here, that can work out fatal . Good Monitor is worth gold. I would recommend a mid class 19". Ilyama is quite good in that sector and they have fair prices. If you work lets say 10 - 12 hours in front of the screen you should definetly get a high end one.

1 more vote for AMD, they are faster in almost everything, and much cheaper. Be sure to buy "in the box" so that you have the guarrantee also.

... or if you wargame a lot I had several systems using intel, amd and once even a cyrix. I prefer AMD.
