Anyone interested in putting one together for me? The 502nd one just doesn't cut it for a Pac War game.

I was in the Navy for a very short while (6 months {6/86 - 12/86}). Couldn't pass the water survival couse to graduate. They waivered me twice, but my left ear just wouldn't cooperate. I was to be a GMG and was 2 weeks from graduation of AIT. Had orders for the USS New Jersey (BB-62) which incidently was my home state. So I'm definately her fanboy.

In the Army I was a light infantryman and we did a lot of night fighting training. And I love the P-61 Black Widow as she was the first to employ radar built in with a special black paint job done at the factory. The radar for her is like having the NVGs for us. Turning night into day and letting us fight better at night.

So, one of the two or both would be fantastic. And yes that would make me an Allied fanboy as well.

Yes, my grandfather was in WW2, but believe it or not he was in C Co 2/502PIR 101st Airborne Division just like myself. Between the two of us we have 15+ years with the 502nd.

Thanks all in advance. Please send to: sgt.swanson@leswanson.org

Haplo_Patryn,
i'm going to pretend that my sig was included in your compliment so that i can tell you that i used Adobe Acrobat to make mine

here's a sample of one that i tried...cool painting of buffalo and p-40 together...i'd offer to make one for you, but as you can see, i'm going senile and used "Victory in the Pacific" instead of "War in the Pacific" in the text box...too much avalon hill games, i suppose

Any graphics program will be fine, they've even been some made with MS Paint, such as Marky's which I quite liked.

Marky's sig looked like he was tripping when he made it.

It gave me a headache just looking at it.

The only problem with Paint is that it's difficult to resize the picture to make it fit in the size limits. I had a picture of an A-26 I would have liked to use, but I can't get it to size properly.

Why couldn't you resize?

Send me the pic Terminus.

Didn't the Strech/Skew option under Image from the menu do the job? Not that I'm trying to imply that MS Paint should be anything but the program of last resort.

As for Marky's sig, yes he did return for a while, but his pic was removed and his sig turned into an anti-Janice rant.

The problem isn't so much getting it to fit in the size requirement, but getting the aspect ratio right. I end up with a very short, very fat Invader.

And I would use Photoshop, except my trial period expired a while ago, and Adobe seem inexplicably paranoid about people using their software after the trial runs out .

Can any of you guys recommend a free picture editor? There's got to be one somewhere...

Thanks H_P, I picked that up today. Didn't solve my problem, but I'm keeping it anyway; you can never have too much software (Book of Nerds, chapter 2, verse 19)!

Maybe I'll go looking for a picture of an A-26 that's a bit closer to the size limits. Or maybe I'll just stick with biting satire and movie/TV quotes for my signature.

You know? While I found a good one myself being a bomber fan, I often find myself waxing a quote from the first Batman movie sorta gamer style... "Where do they find all those wonderful art pics?"

Got lucky finding mine, but folks have found some real gems on here over the last 18 months or so.

You really don't have to worry much about size limits (within reason!)

If you upload a picture to a post (as an attachment), you can then use that picture as "reference" for your sig banner. If you try uploading a sig banner at the max size in the normal way, you will see it is relatively small compared to some of the gorgeous sig banners seen in this forum.

EDIT: There are also other ways to go about this, like uploading the pic to a third-party site.

That's very cool indeed, Subchaser. Think you could do something like that for me? An A-26, please, with the gun nose.
