I am Allied in a game with Drex. For the last 4 turns a few of my TFs have not moved and in some cases have reset their destinations and home ports to San Fran. I have tried everything I can think of, including disbanding/re-recreating, changing destinations, reforming into multiple TFs. It's as if the game has forgotten some ports exist.

Drex, my IJ opponent, indicates another of his Allied opponents is having the same issue.

Sounds like his map data file has become corrupted. Is this possible? If so is this the "pwhex.dat" file? Any other files involved?

Help would be appreciated!

I have had a TF that didn't move. Its movement was o/o even when I changed the speed from cruise to full and the ships were all 11knotters. I disbanded and created a new TF and this moved normally.

Turns out it was the pwhex.dat. I sent Drex my copy to use and the problem disappeared.

I've had the same problem with an allied tanker TF not moving a single hex in three days between Tarawa and Nauru. Is the pwhex.dat file you've sent compatible with the 1.6 map layout? If so, I'd like a copy as well please.

sermil,

Aside from possibly having an incompatible pwhex.dat, there is a different issue with TF's. Many of us use the 'destination' like a waypoint. Suppose a TF starts in SF and you want it to go to Townsville. The problem is the Japanese hold the Gilberts and Marshalls, and the TF will go right though them and get slaughtered! So, you tell the TF to load, set home port to Townsville, and set the destination to a mid-ocean hex southeast of Fiji. Return to Port in enabled.

The majority of the time this works great, the TF goes to the mid-ocean destination hex, then returns to port. Sometimes, however, the TF goes to the mid-ocean destination hex and just sits there.

In this case, the only thing thats required is to open it up and select 'return to xxxxxx', xxxxxx being the button at the bottom of the panel that shows the home port. This always clears it up.
