Anybody have and play Russo-German War from Scherwpunkt? I was thinking of getting it not sure if it runs in XP ok? I do run in 32-bit color mode; I read somewhere you need to be in 16-bit mode to work?

Also do you like it? Would you recommened getting it. I do like BiI, COTD, and FG games from Matrix I purchased. I also have COG and I did buy WiTP but it is too overwhelming for me to get into so it is just collecting dust for now.

Any input is appreciated.

Hey,

I have it and am enjoying it. It works on XP but I think I am running it at 16 bit color, I'll check it out tonight. For me, it's the game I have been waiting for (I just bought it), plays and looks like a boardgame. Liked it enough to pre-purchase the Anglo-German game they have coming soon.

For what it's worth...

Thanks for the reply, I am also looking forward to anglo-german war but wanted to get this in the meantime as well. Can you please test it in 32-bit mode in XP and see if you see any anomalies and let me know?

Thanks so much

I got it a couple of weeks ago and enjoy it a lot. I find the scale and complexity level (not very high) makes for an enjoyable time, and you can really make progress in a sitting. Has a nice (if retro/simple) feel.

Know how you feel on WitP. I cranked it up and opened the manual again last night after leaving it alone these last few months. Had to have a drink and lie down afterwards. I have to admire its depth, love the graphics (I like it clear and simple) but the micromanagement just kills me. RGW is a lot easier to get your arms around.
