Not quite sure how I stumbled on to this forum but here I am. I am an avid computer wargamer and haven't ever played board games with the exception of Risk and Battleship. Fun games yes, but not really in-depth war games. As for PC games, I have played many....all the Close Combats, MOHSH, OFP, Battlefield series, CC, Red Alert, MTW, RTW, HiddenDangerous etc. Recentl, I purchased Brothers in Arms which is a nice game and has some potential to develop into something greater. The problem is I am getting BORED to tears over the same old games over and over. Here is the standard procedure: I typically bang out the single player game within a few days, or weeks, depending on my real life schedule. Then I move on to the online play which is usually overun with hackers, those who accuse everyone else of hacking, and the L33T/NOOB crowd. In addition to this, I have to wait for at least two or three patches to correct all of the issues that were unresolved before the game was released. The forums are filled with those bashing developers, publishers, fanboys, whiners, etc...it is really becomming too much to bear. Result? After a period of a few weeks, I have exhausted my interest in a game which cost $50 and the cycle repeats. Unless of course, the developer announces the "expansion" pack which supposedly fixes all the bugs from the first game, but also costs $39.99. So my question after my mini-rant is, will this board game, which is apparently playable online in some form, provide some quality entertainment without the hassles of the current PC market? I can't imagine I am the only PC gamer who feels this way. I'm hoping something new and different would be a good thing. Any comments are appreciated.
