Can someone please answer the following:

What are the Advanced Nakajima and Mitsubishi engines for?

For the B-7 Grace Series, how do I build the Toyoda engines they need? I can't see anyway to convert engine factories for that type. There is another engine type in the same situation for a different future aircraft.

Thanks.

The game system will not let me change the names 100% within the game. I did the best i could on this.

Nissan = Advanced Mitsubishi
Toyoda = Advanced Nakajima

If you go to the information screen, then the Japanese aircraft data list you can peruse the Japanese aircraft and see which use which engine.

The advanced engines are a way to make it dificult for Japan to stock up on engines at the beginning of the game.
The Adv Mitsubishi is available in 12/42
The Adv Nakajima is available in 9/43

You will need to convert engine factories at that time or earlier to the advanced types, otherwise your later war aircraft cannot be built.

The B7A Grace, for example, does not need the Toyoda engine, it needs the adv Nakajima. The screen where it still says 'Toyoda', which i believe is the production overview screen, still lists the old names. So, if you see a refrence for Nissan or Toyoda realize they are actually the two advanced types.

Hope this helps.

Andrew, if you see this could you copy it into your readme stuff on your website?

Mike

What if I produce these engines early? Can they get available early, ala -rd for aircraft?

Thanks for an awesome mod!

By the way, I could not agree more on the need to for restricting engine stockpiling for Japan.

I really don't know why WitP even seperated engines from aircraft without going to the depth of engine production the same as aircraft.

To me, it would be just as effective to not do engines at all, and just concentrate on complete aircraft.

Aircraft developement in Japan was, for the greater part, most severly restricted by powerplant capability.

Yes, the engines can be RDed early, which in the case of advanced Nakajima you may want to do...
