Post descriptions of your brillant successes and your unfortunate efforts doing research

Regarding research, the manual is almost useless.The only way to understand something may be to share experiences:what did you try, what the system gave you in return etc...

My only "experience" is with the Tony in May 42. I'm producing 150 virtual rdplanes and the availability date is still 08/42.But I was very pleased to know from another thread this effort didn't cost me anything: no HI point producing these rdplanes nor their engines,and the supplies would have been expended anyway to build my production plant.
So, even if I can't move the availability date of a single month I won't be too disapointed, building factories in advance, for the same cost, can hardly be called a research effort.
