I hope this is not too presumptuous of me but I should like to make a series of Game Play suggestions. These are not necessarily my own original ideas;

POWs

1. Remove the requirement for POWs to be supplied. This will prevent the deliberate starvation of POWs in order to reduce the number of troops returning to the colours after the war.

2. Returning POW units, after surrender, have their morale reduced by 50%

3. Freed POW units have their morale reduced by 50%

4. Capturing POWs should either be more Glory points for the victor, or a loss to NML for the looser.

5. POWs should cause an ongoing loss to NML, as in “end this war and bring our boys home”. This loss should be a fraction of the initial NML cost for losing them in the first place- possibly 10% or 20%..

6. POWs should not count towards the stacking level of a city. I think this can be implemented by giving them similar traits as leader units so that they can stack for free and not use supply.

7. POWs placed in a city should not be able to be freed, unless city is captured.

8. POWs in their captors national provinces should not be able to be freed.

9. POWs placed in a city should visibly add to the production of that province, I suggest 3 additional labour points for a POW unit (size does not matter) to keep things nice and simple. I suggest the bonus is capped at +15 labour per city to prevent a player from just dumping all their POWs in the nearest city and amassing +60 or whatever labour.

Ian

1000% agree with your suggestions , Ian. I'm definatly being presumptuous with your presumptions.

I agree, too. What really cheesed me off one turn was that as I was marching them off to a very poor and poorly travelled province, my revolting Prussians (aka Prussian revolt) set them all free!

...and, btw Matrix and Western Civ....since when have Prussians ever revolted?

Well, its no biggie form a milits army or just gather some 3-5 milits divisons to guard the pow's.
The problem is that the nml is not lowered much if you destroy/capture armies of 50k-250k sizes.
