I'd like to welcome you all to our new home. After all these years of work this feels great.

The 2005 Gold Edition has been in public beta for about a month and is ready to go. Just a few more polishes and completing a proper manual! Hopefully we can get it in your hands this month. I'll be posting a release candidate build this weekend that any existing PureSim 2005 owner will be able to download.

I hope we can bring all the old PureSim grognards over here and make a lot of new friends.

Anyway, this is a nice day for PureSim (and me!)

Welcome!

Shaun Sullivan
Developer, PureSim Baseball

Hey Shaun!! Congratulations...and great job!! As a PureSimmer since its inception (when was it, 1998?), I have to say that Shaun's perseverance, commitment, and absolutely unwavering dedication to his "baby" and his customers has been phenomenal! In this software business (both on the business *and* entertainment side), I haven't 'met' too many programmers who've had the consistent dedication and stick-to-it-ness that Shaun has demonstrated.

MATRIX: Treat this guy well!! Give him the time and resources he needs -- it will all pay dividends!! Not only that, he brings with him a very solid and educated customer base...and listening to 'us' would be a good thing, too :-)

Congratulations and best of luck to all!!
Marshall

Hopefully the extent of these forums demonstrate our commitment to listening to the fans of our games!

Next to wargaming, baseball (and football - those are the yin and yang of sports to me) sims have been a passion of mine going back to Earl Weaver Baseball on my old 386SX/20Mhz in what 1988!!

I've been playing various baseball sims ever since and Puresim is to me the perfect combination of playing, managing and franchise oversight. AND teh best thing its the customizability so you get get the combination that suits YOU if its different from what suits ME.

Shaun's YEARS of hard work on this has shown, and it s real privledge for us at Matrix to be able to assist in ensuring it has a bright future!

Hi I recall the first time I downloaded Puresim several years back. It was a very nice game then and is really grown into the best baseball game I've seen. I stopped visting Puresims forum when my machine blew up and when I aquired a new one I found Matrix and thats the end of that story. Nice to see them together now (I can kill 2 birds)
There will be a Matrix League. Perhaps we can place the Puresim folks in the American league and the matix in the National ? (No a I guess not because then Paul V could not be the Redsox)

Glad to be here!

Oh honorable Great One Shaun.... I'm glad to see this come about. You've worked hard on PSB and it's a pleasure to not only have contributed ideas and support towards the development, but to also see it become the awesome, admired and praised creation that it has.

Best Regards to you!

Ok, I'm home now, the cooler is loaded, and I soon will be.

I guess in a few hours, I can lead us in a singalong of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", with EVERYONE sounding just like Harry Caray.

I've had the privilege of speaking with Shaun via telephone, and he's a genuine Southern gentleman. Jeez, what a great year it's been, so far.

Congratulations on this great move, the upcoming additions to PureSim sound great.

I have been a PureSim player for a couple of years now but usually go quiet during the baseball season working on my fantasy games and then get into simming until the start of Spring Training. I'm really looking forward to this Fall!!

I'm still here. The spirit of ol' Harry is with us now...

"Are you ready! And a one, and a two, and a three...

take me out to the ballgame (EVERYBODY!)..."

(C'mon, guys, help me finish it, Ok, I'm drunk, so I don't care)

"take me out with the crowd...
buy me some peanuts and Crackerjacks,
and I don't care if I ever get back,
and I root, root, root for the Pi-rates (muhaha ),
and if they don't win it's a shame...
for it's one...two... three strikes you're out,
in the pure...sim...game"

Let's play ball!

I did grow up in Milwaukee - so despite their woes the last few years I still am True Blue Brew Crew at heart. When I play I always manage The Sox in the AL and the Brewers in the NL (It was tough before they switched - but I lived in San Diego for some time and managed the Padres a lot.

Please let us know what sort things you like from that game and why. And what things you like from PSB and why. Sometimes there are only so many ways you can do some tings and "you have to pick". But sometimes it leads to something when you look at two games "takes" you get new ideas.

I'm in Rhode Island. We help act as a buffer for you MA Sox fans between you and the Skankee's fans:) Its amazing how many there are here in Rhody. Even at work whne they introduce new folks the first question is always "OK, so which are ya?"

They always look puzzled.

"Sox or Yanks?"

If they Go - Ohhh! and announce their allegience (or just go "baseball, what's that?") you know they are gonna be OK. The one's who hesitate, look squirrelly and quickly try to judge the room, you know are gonna be weasels...
