Hi everyone,
When I bought COG this summer, I was playing on a 1ghz celeron, 256mb RAM laptop. The game took about five minutes to load and switching through windows was really sluggish.

Currently, i'm running it on this machine:
System Manufacturer: MSI
System Model: MS-6712
BIOS: Version 07.00T
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz
Memory: 768MB RAM
Page File: 290MB used, 2934MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode

The same exact sluggishness and load times occur. Is there a CFG file tucked away somewhere I should be tweaking? Does everyone's game take five minutes to load and have sluggish controls, and i'm the only one who's bothered by it?

Cheers,
Drew

Sorry I do not have an answer, but I for one, do not have any speed problems.

It's probably caching to virtual memory that's causing the sluggishness. 768MB should be plenty of memory though; I can run COG on my 512MB laptop with no dips into virtual memory. In Windows Task Manager under the Performance tab you can check on your page file usage. If the usage history shows a lot of page file activity while COG has been running, then you may be able to try tweaking your page file settings or shutting down other processes to free up more physical memory.
