Guys,
game seems OK on X64 although I keep getting a ctd due to an MFC error. From what I read, I believe that this is a graphics error. I can't see that it would be related to X64 OS.

I am running an ATI X850XT and have never had any graphics problems. I read the FAQ above and that doesnt solve anything. I have DL'ed patch 1.1 - what should I be doing to fix this.

I have attached the DirectX Diag for those that understand

Thanks in advance

TJ

I don't have any way of testing on an X64 system presently.

At what point or points in the game is the MFC error occuring?

X64 runs 32 bit applications (such as COG) on an x86 emulator called WOW64. Microsoft refers to WOW64 as being "highly compatible" with existing 32 bit applications but apparently not perfectly compatible; I've been unable to find a technical document on known incompatibility issues. Also note that X64 does not work with any 32 bit drivers; this may include the codecs that CoG installs.

The CTD is random, occuring about 2 mins after launching a game. It seems bizzare that the game runs fine and then suddenly crashes. If it is a codec problem, would changing/ upgrading codecs help? Any other ideas??

TJ,

Unfortunately, we don't support X64 systems and they're not listed as supported because we don't have any to develop or test on. Like Eric, I'm not sure where to start because of the emulation layer. If you can't figure out a solution on your own, send me an e-mail at erikr@matrixgames.com and we'll discuss what to do.

Regards,

- Erik

I am facing exactly the same problem - random crash to desktop with the PlatoMFC Application error, also on XP Pro x64, but with Nvidia Graphics Card ( 6600GT PCI-Ex ). I have updated to the latest nvidia drivers with no help.

Is there anything I can do to try and help test the issue ?

This is the only game I have had problems with ?
