ISP != Phone provider. Find a better ISP here http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/

For as little (this is in Oz, which has outragous internet prices mind you) as 60$ you can get 512kbs with NO cap.

Hey Panzer76....I just got an account with Netspace, which when I signed up was unlimited and 512Kbs. Now they have just sent me an email saying that all unlimited accounts are ghoing to be capped at 50 Gig per month.

Well, then they don't have TRUE unlimited download, which Im aure you will find in their small print. This is typical for the bigger companies, but many of teh smaller ones does not have this. I myslef had Zebra Internet without any restreictions.

Actually you are right, it was not a "true" unlimited as the top 10% of users were subject to being "shaped". I might add that Netspace has now decided to0 drop the unlimited service altogether and I will now be limited to 50Gig per month.

*sigh* The debate about broadband and the costs Vs what you get is a long and sorry story here in the land of Oz

Smacking banananana boy's oil production. - 10/4/2005 3:00:16 AM

In what is now a rare happening...Luskan sent me a turn ! (But to be fair to the banananana boy he is working on restoring a rathole that he has bought in Sid-a-ney and so his spare time is somewhat limited and will be for the next few weeks).

So I have been sitting on my backside doing stuff all......so as a way of punishing the recalcitrant I sent a couple of B-17s to Soerabaja to bomb the cr@p out of the oil fields and managed to do some damage A sweep of Kendari by some P-38s also gives me a small swag of Zeros and Oscars............these P-38 blokes are doing well....maybe I should ship them to Akyab to teach those Japs in Rangoon a lesson or two? After the sweep by the P-38s I sent in some more bombers to hit the port and once again hit the CL Nagara........one would think that she is about to sink !

The move up through the DEI continues....still no sign of ANY opposition though I think that Luskan is going to have to respond not just with airpower but also with troops.....and he has to hit Timor as this is now where a lot of my LRBs are based...(thus putting some of his major oilfields under threat)...if this is the case then there are going to be some major fireworks as I have sh1tloads of fighters and MRBs just waiting to have a crack at the IJN. Bring it on banananana boy.

nope mate !

Luskan is just re-locating and since he bought a rat-hole ( in ravers words ) it s just takes its time to get all things properly set up. Luskan and Raver arent quitters - there is jsut a delay because of Luskans re-deployment. once Luskan has settled down the turn rate will come back to normal rate

the oli has spoken

All true - I'm managing turns at a pretty slow pace at the moment, but I've got to see this game through to the bitter, twisted end.

Raver's airpower is starting to get really, really scary (3 raids of 200+ heavies a day . . . just painful).

Yes, I've bought a new lair, and renovations to the bat cave are taking longer than expected. My Spidy-senses tingle every time contractors go in to doa job (or half do a job, or perhaps do a **** job, or more often, do a good job of writing the bill BEFORE they have finished, or in one case, do the job, and throw the left over timber (about 25 2m planks of floorboard - quite thick) off the 2nd floor balcony, over (most of the time) a parked car which copped some damage from the flying floor.

Of course, I can't just shoot the bastard because he hasn't finished yet. Once he's finished, and i'm certain he's finished . . . well I'll have a floor and I know a guy who knows a guy

Got one of the weekly turns that I am getting for the banana as he builds his new digs (if the truth be know I am certain that he is really building a bunker from which he will fight the last days of the game as his evil empire crashes down around his head).

I am now starting to dominate the eastern part of the DEI through LRB and soon hope to have airbases close enough to seriously hit his oil regions. he will HAVE to respond to this sooner or later and the only way that he can respond is to use his navy to try and bombard my airfields......oh I so hope that he tries that!

Timber floor contractor "finished".
I haven't seen work of this quality since kindegarten.

There are holes about 3 cm wide between the wall and the floor (yes - including the "hanging" skirting).

See it to believe it. I've got some photos . . . I'll be taking them along to his showroom on saturday morning to show unsuspecting future customers/victims what they can expect every saturday until he finishes the job (which will require - you guessed it! Relaying the floor . . . ).

So Luskan's fight with the flooring tradesman (and i use the word "Tradesman" loosely) means yet another week slides by with little action in the real world of WiTP. Hey Luskan, I'm up your way next week......have some work to do in a $hitty place called Cambeltown. Want me to come around and strong arm that tradie for ya?????

I got the turn and still little to report with the exception of what my code-breakers have found:-

"53rd Division is planning for an attack on Admiralty Islands."

Nice to get a heads-up now and again.

The Admiralty Islands was a bloody secret . . . ****.
I didn't think US int for this game was meant to give you that kind of detail.
Was it a patch????

Makes it very difficult to regain the initiative.

A couple more weeks and then I'll be back in the gaming saddle once more.

Have had to call a temporary hiatus from play over the Xmas break - will be working over the Xmas break anyway . . .

This happened last year sports fans, so in the new year, all my turns will recommence with a vengeance.

Raver is more likely to have forgotten where his units are than me at any rate.

this may count for raver but not for me. I kept a copy to watch EVERY detail

I am back. I have a new sub-volcanic lair, and a new job, and a new internet connection.

Turns aren't exactly going to be fast (still) but at least things will slowly improve to the point I can keep the games ticking over.

Guaranteed Raver has forgotten what he was doing in the game.

And as for you Oli - watching every detail is going to get easier for you as I continue to reduce the number of allied units in the OOB. First combat report in a couple of months and I'm glad I saved it. Oli got cocky sailing around my major pacific fleetbase - Noumea.

OK, that explains it. Was wondering who the hell Oli was. At first I thought it was Luskan's little 'love nickname" for Raver?
