Hi-v1.6, scenario 15, 10/43. Still organizing my Saipan op. ?-Are combat engineers those Eng. units that have an assault value? I need these type units to clear fortifications on Saipan. Thanks, Hugh Browne

If I had to hazard a guess I'd say "yes".

The answer to your question is yes but a better way to ID combat engineers is to look at the TOE. Normal engineers are just called "Engineer" where as combat engineers are "Engineer Squad". Some normal infantry divisions contain combat engineers, especially the chinese corps IIRC. So you can have combat engineer function without a specific emngineering regiment being present
