C'mon! Admit it you want it! Ya gotta have it. Well, I'm working on a Brecourt Manor scenario that I'll be glad to share with all, once it's done.

Here's a portion of the map, so far. The final will be larger, covering more of the surrounding area. The graphics are not quite finished, though they won't be anywhere near as nice as on the original game maps.

I've got a rough OOB worked up so far, and I'm working on a couple of leader counters for the key characters. Obviously, it will be a small battle, and I'm thinkin' that it might be best as a solitaire/introductory scenario.

Comments? Suggestions?

What! No halos? Sorry couldn't resist. Your rebuttal in the other thread is excellent and I totally agree. This one looks good, good luck and keep us posted.

Great Idea, the map looks pretty good as well! I'd be interested in that.

I like it!! Well done... looking forward to how the scenario will look!

I considered using this at CONQUEST but shyed away 'cause of a question of play balance.
But as an intro game with a couple of LOS or OCCUPATION event counters this could be very fun!

Heh. Well, to tell the truth, adding the halos would be a huge pain in the kiester, whether I liked them or not.

Hey crabbe--

I know that site. It offers the best battle info I've seen. Not only does it have maps, it has photos of the field too.

It's my primary source. I also have an aerial photo of the field which is my primary source for the map.

I hope to have the map finished today. The problem is, even pdf'd and zipped it will be a pretty big file. Eh, we'll deal with that somehow.

If anybody has any other suggestions, please offer them up.

...oh, as for suggestions - could the scenario be constructed using current BoH counters?

Sorry guys. I've been delinquent. The map's nearly done. In fact, I'll be posting it before the end of the week.

The scenario will be played with BoH counters. However, I'm working on three "leader" counters for the Paras (Winters, Compton, and Spears), that I'll also make available, and hopefully, they will add some color to the scenario.

Now, it won't be tested. I'll run it through a couple of times, but I'll be depending on all of you for feedback and suggestions. There will be some special rules to cover the unique aspects of this battle. I hope Mark and the devs feel free to chime in too. Their input would be really helpful, and appreciated.

I've actually been sidetracked. I'm also working on a historically accurate Le Manoir de la Fiere map, which is also almost done, and a Foy map, which is sort of an amalgamation of the scanty historical maps available of the town, and the set from Band of Brothers.

Anyway, keep your eye on this thread. I'll post updates here.

Hi Magua,

This looks cool. We have blank map overlays, if you want one just email me and I'll send it along.

Of course it **is** hard to see the hexside, but whatever...
Best,
Mark

Here's the "final" Brecourt map. I say final because I already see some things I want to tweak, and it's a cinch that once we start testing, some revisions will need to be made.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/mandt/BrecourtMapA.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/mandt/BrecourtMapB.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/mandt/BrecourtMapC.jpg

Download each of the three files, and print them out in landscape. I've left a tiny bit of overlap so that you can trim them for a perfect fit. Map A is the northernmost, Map B next, and Map C is the southernmost piece.

I've taken the liberty of increasing the scale of the map. In other words, it's about twice as big as it should be. If I had stayed to scale, the battlefield would have been about 3-hexes wide by 6-hexes tall, way too compressed to make for an enjoyable scenario.

Let me know what you think, and any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Hm - map A and B a quiet small, while C looks ok - do I miss somethng? (Look becomes ugly, when enlarged via graphic program)

Manuga,
I agree the maps look great (but I do prefer the halos - but I can live without them) but when I download, maps A and B print out very small while the hexes in C seem right. The same observation as Hannes. Outstanding work!

This is great! I've always liked the historical maps of ATS - the system can't compare to LnL. But LnL with a mix of "generic" terrain and historical terrain. That is a tactical system that goes beyond "can't be beat!" Now if I only had your skill...

No you don´t, the files are not really "optimal" for print.

Magua, drop me an email and I will tell you what too look for when you want make maps the are printable at quality level.

Sorry guys. For some reason A and B didn't upload correctly. Even at that, the best resolution Photobucket allows is 250K or something, and I think we want these babies at about 1MB each.

I'll see what I can do. If worse comes to worse, I'll make a big pdf of the three and email it to you all.

The best solution would be if I could find a friendly ftp or website that will host them.

Okay, I replaced the files. The new ones should be a bit better, and all the same size. Still, I'd like to get bigger files out to you for better resolution.

Rats!

I don't know what the problem with Photobucket is. Here's my plan. Send me an email. This weekend, I'll email a pdf of the map to everyone who wants. It will still be a lower resolution file than I'd like, but much, much better than Photobucket.

I'm working on a better solution. Sorry for the hassle guys.

No hassle, you are doing a great job and a service to us by putting this together. I've gone back to the sources and your map matches up very well. I am impressed!

Hi Fellas-

I've got a revised map ready, and the scenario card is almost finished. Here are two leaders that will be included. There will be a third, Spiers. I tossed around the notion of using the actors faces, and then considered the real guys, but decided to play it safe and use "generic" faces.

So I'm hoping to have this thing packaged by the weekend for whomever is interested in testing it out.

Looks awesome, Magua. I really like the idea of using real terrain for new maps. I'll attempt to test it, if ya like. Like you, I am new to the system, so it may not be as helpful as a LnL vet.

Yup. Something like that. ;)

Thanks for the compliments fellas, though I must confess the portraits are not originals. They're knockoffs with some very heavy modification.

I'm really pleased you are all interested too. Now you've put me under the gun to get this thing into a format you can get started with. As I said earlier, I hope to have a package ready for this weekend.

Luego amigos.
