When I import a entire team, sometimes it will come back with something like "27 players imported 1 exception". That exception or exceptions will then be added to the Free Agent pool. Is this normal?

In an example, I attempted to import the 84 Tigers and received "14 players imported, 16 exceptions"

The only time I ever had an exception when importing for Sandbox mode was when I tried to import the '97 Marlins and then separately tried to import Jeff Conine '97 (alone). I didn't make a fuss out of the problem assuming it was because he already existed (same name, etc.). When I tried the same thing but with Jeff Conine '98 (for testing purposes), I had no problems.

The only thing I don't like about Sandbox mode importing of whole teams, and this isn't PSB's fault, is that you don't ALWAYS get the same amount of players from each team. Granted, that's all based on how many players the Lehman Database shows for the team at the time. Also, the roster is based on the team at the start of the year- it doesn't take into account any trades, free agent signings, etc. done afterwards.

There was this one baseball game I played once (I can't remember the name) that had a really interesting feature in that if you start a team in say... 1989, at the end of the season, the rookies available (for any team to sign) were the same, accurate rookies available in 1990. I admit that I have yet to sim (or manage) a real MLB league in PureSim, so I don't know if this happens here to.

So does it?

Was this the first team you attempted to import? Were there other teams already in the league or players in the free agent pool?

If you can give me the exact steps you went through that would help. Some exceptions are around duplicate players or in some cases players didn't have enough ABs or IPs to be properly modeled so they are exceptions as well.
