First I'd like to thank Matrix et. al. for a fine product and for the promptness regarding patches. I'd like to see a confirmation msg. box after the exit game button and/or the end turn button. I've lost some good work (and bad work too..damn mines)by accidentally clicking the exit game button instead of the end turn. It would also probably be just as effective to separate the buttons somewhat...as it is their neighboors and I get it fouled up at 3:30am. Also,it seems to me that direct fire mortars are too effective..I consistently get about an 80%+ kill rate(5shots,4casualties of at least1),much more effective than indirect, anybody notice? What about you Victor250%Hauser? IMO the "vic" is the king of this board..pretty much singlehandedly convinced us grognerds that the SS should be heavy infantry, and therefore we need a separate elite gategory. My .02 An ISIII can take away any edge. My sleep-deprived mronic self just noticed that there are yes/no dialog boxes..hence the red face.I must just be hurrying along not paying attention..hey are very simliar boxes though..maybe the exit game dialog could be in red text? or maybe it could present us with an option to save before exiting? I don't like to save during the game as I feel it gives the game an "edge"..I very, very seldom reload a last save..occassionally I will if I make a mismove...if I have to replay say the last 3 turns,I'll usually just swallow my errant move anyhow..fog of battle. Hey, what to the Germans call tank-top type t-shirts? PANZERTOPS! ha ha ha.

Well, a mortar team observing the fall of their own shells can get very good accuracy, more than could be achieved by plotting on a map and adjusting via a FO so I don't think that this is unrealistic. What kind of casualities are inflicted by the fall of accurate mortar shells is another matter. You did not say what experience level your casualities are (less exp = more casualities) or their stance (moving will take more casualities than stationary) so I can not say if this is unrealistic or not. I've read that small mortar teams (60mm or so) usually directly fired in all armies in WWII. They were organic to companies and while trained to conduct indirect operations, they were so close to the enemy (they were along with the infantry) that they just directly fired. ------------------ An old soldier but not yet a faded one. OK, maybe just a bit faded.

Hey, speak for yourself, I still don't buy that, and I think there are a lot of other people that don't either.
