A friend of mine, who also served on a US nuke carrier (Enterprise), once told me they did a "high-speed deployment" from Mayport to the Persian Gulf.

The operative words being "high-speed".

Wanna guess how long it took them to get there?

Across the Atlantic, through the Mediterranean, down the Red Sea, around Yemen and Oman, and up the Gulf. In ten days.
