I was wondering if it might be possible to show a destroyed aircraft picture similar to what is done with destroyed tanks? If I remember right, all we get now is a big fire in the hex wherever the plane goes down. Great game! Thanks for the many hours of entertainment.

Thats got my vote as well. Something like a burning tail or part of a wing. One other thing. Is it possible to incorporate something that lets us have alook over the ground after the battle has been played. I kind of like looking over the ground - seeing where the battle traversed as well as looking at areas I could improve on. Cheers Nik

in a similar vein, i have always thought we should see tracks - in the sand - in the woods etc. it would show what both players did and add a little mud - of course this would mean the creation of a whole new batch of shps (ick) [one for each direction and terrain type]and a subroutine that placed them as the tanks moved through. would be neat though

Gobbler, Tracks would be neat, however, I think it might be a bit too much graphically. Also might be kind of hard to code (though I'm just guessing about the code). Nik

Again, i haven't thought it through, but i think tank tracks would be a nice addition. I agree the coding could be a problem since it would require the placement a large number of matching shps on a single map. we sort of do this with craters. There could be one for each direction on each terrain and a general intersection shp after tracks cross. Tracks are part of the tank mystique. I think that every promotional and propoganda photo I ever saw shows tanks knocking down a trees or tearing up a cornfields. . . besides wouldn't tank tracks make up part of your intel?

I second the motion, same here love looking over the battlefield after the battle and see all the keosk that transpire in the battle. Tanlhead ------------------ Rick Cloutier rcclout@telusplanet.net Coordinator: Tankhead's SPWAW Resources http://sites.netscape.net/rcclout

Yah, I like that too... looking at the remais of the battlefield has always been a feature I felt would help in me learning from my mistakes. Tomo

Well, the track idea is nice, but the problem is that if you coded that in, you now have to have a fog of war for the terrain itself. Otherwise you know exactly where the enemy is after each turn. Thats fine if you are buying sattelite intel, but well, there was none to buy. I do like the blowed up aircraft idea though.

Yeah, tailfins sticking out the ground would be cool!

I like both suggestions. Also looking at the map afterwards will allow for trialing out scenarios we make in AI vs AI battles
