Hello. I'm playing a WW2 Campaign as US against Japan in the Pacific Theater. For my second battle, the AI hands me a thirty something turn advance through the jungle in a thunderstorm, and most of the VH are scored by the turn. My force is mostly infantry, and walking 1 hex per turn gets me just about to the VH before the game ends. Obviously I will score no points.

Question: How can I edit the weather to let my guys move maybe 2 hexes per turn? I didn't see weather on the Chandla editor.

Well, my friend, you can STILL get a decisive victory if you kill enough of the enemy and keep your losses to a minimum. Yeah, I hate those types of advance missions, too. I don't know if you can change the weather -- you'll either have to tough it out or start over from scratch (believe me, I've started campaigns over literally hundreds of times, which is why I haven't completed one in years )

Realistically speaking, a USA/USMC vs Japan first battle in a long campaign should be a defend or delay. If I draw an advance or assault, I simply start over. After all, it's just a game.

Uh oh, I see that Riun is lurking -- I'd better be prepared for a tongue-lashing. "Sorry, sir, I'll TRY to be more hardcore, but it's my naptime."

Thanks for the quick reply.

I was assigned a delay mission for the first game and scored a decisive victory. Now I get a visibility 1 movement 1 advance with 2 infantry companies supported by a company of mech eng and light tanks. I'll give it a go, but I'm afraid the infantry is going to miss the party.

Oh, jeez, you gotta be playing as US Army. The Marines do it on foot. C'mon, man, the army grunts are just pogey-bait. Marine: "Hey, I'll trade you my Springfield and a Baby Ruth for that no-good Garand of yours." Army grunt: " A Baby Ruth? Duhh, sure! You want my grenades, too?"

Hi,

Years ago I wrote a how-to for editing campaigns, please find it attached. You can also then change the weather with appropriate values per page 44 in the manual!
