boba -> LCUs trapped (12/8/2005 1:37:53 PM)

I'm using 1.702Beta patch and have a problem in my current PBEM. Couple of turns ago while transfering several LCUs to Roxas my TF stopped at hex 41,55 (just W of Roxas) and unloaded Ikaiei SNLF and part of Kainan Guard SNLF. I've spoted that and canceled unload but now ther's no way to use this troops. I cant load them back to ships and they won't move (getting message that valid supply route can't be traced) even after I captured Roxas base.

Any way to get those LCUs opperational again? It's no real game breaker but I admit I could use them more usefuly than now (sitting on beaches and doing nothing [;)] ).

Why can't you load them back onto the ships? If you are trying to load them onto ships that already have LCUs on them, this can be tricky (even if it is the same unit), but new ships should work. If worse comes to worst and you need them quickly, bring in some DDs as a surface TF, park them on the hex (do not retreat) and then switch them to a fast transport TF. As long as they don't refuel or something, the troops should load on immediately - (make sure the ship have 0 ops points used that turn).

I was trying to load them on ships which unloaded them in first place (so there were some troops on ships). I'll try to load them on empty APs this time.
I forgot to ask in my previous post, why those troops unloaded in a first place, since they were on TF which hade Roxas as destination [&:]

This is a bug that's been around forever. Normally, i keep things set to "Do Not Unload" until the ships are 1 turn out and/or do not have any land/dot hexes in the way. Even then, you can get surprises - witness Ron S's game against Irrelevant current thread. In that Irr. (Tony S) had troops unload at a spot despite having "Do Not Unload" activated.
