Not sure if this is a bug or not, but thought I'd come here and mention it.
Playing Sweden in a 1792 scenario using v1.2.16, I was allied with England and at war with Turkey. I had a fleet in the southwesternmost province (sorry, don't have the game open), England had a fleet in the sea around Zealand, and Turkey had a number of privateers in that same sea.
When I tried to move my fleet out of harbour, I ended up in a battle against the turkish privateers, plus (on their side) the English fleet, and I believe a third nation's ship on one occasion. I set all my ships to route, and things got stranger still. Both the English and Swedish fleets retreated (or perhaps the English fleet simply moved) into the same province in Denmark. For the next 2 months, I tried to move my fleet back to sea, but each time the English set sail at the same time and I ended up in another battle. Finally, the English fleet stayed put for a turn and I was able to engage the Turkish privateers without the English sailing to their aid.
This persisted for about 3 months, until the
