rdd10 -> Patches (12/18/2005 3:15:16 AM)

When attempting to install passwords and prompted for password, password on CD will not be accepted. What gives?

pasternakski -> RE: Patches (12/18/2005 3:44:28 AM)

Are you inserting the dash separator between the four-character groups?

Mr.Frag -> RE: Patches (12/18/2005 3:57:46 AM)

Are you sure you are using the right set of numbers?

The one you want is 4 groups of 4 digits with dashes, enter it including the dashes.

like this: ####-####-####-####

Oh yeah guys, four groups of four numbers with dashes in between.

The game appears to be version 1.31, though I just received it. Since I was familiar with UC, I checked for patches. So...I'm assuming that I start with patch 1.40. Correct? After unzipping the patch, the installer runs to serial number input, and it will not accept the exact serial number printed on the face of the CD.

Ok, just for the hec of it, I downloaded, unzipped and attempted to install 1.30, even though I have version 1.31, since the downloads site says patch 1.30 should be installed before installing 1.40. Still no go, will not accept the serial number, xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx, printed on the face of the CD, and stated as the correct serial number on the order email. Could use a little help here!

see your PM.

rdd10 -> RE: Patches (12/18/2005 5:49:40 AM)

Been there, done that. Won't accept serial number on CD.

rdd10 -> RE: Patches (12/19/2005 4:38:07 PM)

I contacted Support and verified the registered serial number. It was NOT the serial number printed on the CD, nor the serial number listed on the original order receipt.
Needless to say, when I entered the CORRECT serial number when installing the patches, it worked. Since I obviously had to enter the first serial number to install the game, there apparently are two serial numbers, one shipped with the game, and a different one registered with Matrix. Now that's what I call copyright infringement protection!!!

Spoke too soon. Now I'm getting "Fatal Error 818". (See new thread previous screen).
